A Little of This, A Little of That

Diamonds Are Forever, quilts, William Morris in Applique-Floral Fantasy

I worked on a variety of things yesterday.  Just couldn’t settle on one project.  First of all a little applique on Floral Fantasy – block number 6.  the top blue is finished and the reds are done – next I will work on the next blue.

One of the Diamonds are Forever blocks.  I haven’t made many of these recently.

And I hinted awhile back that I was thinking of something different for the border on Patchwork of the Crosses.    Right now I am thinking of appliqueing a row of hexies all the way around the quilt on the middle of the sashing rows that I will be putting around it.  3 rows – white, light aqua, dark aqua.  The row of hexies would go down the middle of the sashing.  I just started to sew some of them together.  I have quite a lot of them left, I might need to make more or it might be enough to do the whole thing.

Quite a lot of hexies here – the white I would not be using for this.  Yes I will probably need more now that I look at this again – I will probably need close to 95 or so on each side of the quilt!  That’s ok, I still have a some of the fabric – I didn’t use it all.

Karen, you have hit on a great idea for using the hexies in your border. It will look great!

Great use of the hexies! I am not one who can have that many projects “in the works”. My mind seems to get ‘stuck’ until it’s finished!
