That’s right for part of this past week we have not been home (that’s why no more progress was made on the Red and Green since I posted last on it).    We got home  yesterday late afternoon and I have been blogging the couple days we were gone posting some and scheduling others for when we got home.  We decided that we needed a mini-vacation.  Tulsa, Oklahoma is about 3 1/2 hours from where we live in Arkansas and that was our destination.  A city trip.  Too hot for hiking and camping.  We stayed at a nice hotel – the Hyatt Place – only two nights so got a small suite for comfort.  Couldn’t get the whole room in the shot so here is part of it – off to the left is a computer station and mini-kitchen set up.

Our main place to see today (Tuesday the 25th) was the Gilcrease Museum and we were so disappointed that no photos were allowed inside Sad smile oh well we did walk around the outside on a short trail and I took photos of the grounds.  Plenty of pretty plants and trees – sculptures also!  the inside had a lot of sculptures, paintings, drawings ect – wish I could have taken photos of the bead work.  Mike and I both have our own cameras and take our own photos – these were all mine.  I haven’t even seen the ones he took yet.

I think I like this view of the sculpture herons better with the gazebo in the distance.  A walkway went around it which was very shaded.  This was the only place basically that we were outside and of course I got one bite from something on my leg! never fails.

More tomorrow.   I did bring handwork to work on in the evening at the hotel.  The Red and Green quilting was from the day before we left.

P.S. if anyone left me a message that I didn’t answer just ask again.  I was checking mail on my phone and computer and in the overlap I might have deleted something that needed to be answered – when I look at mail on the phone I tend to delete to clear things off of the device and sometimes I hit delete before I mean to if you know what I mean.

  1. We all need a mini vacation at times, don’t we… Looks like an interesting place to visit with all those nice sculptures and plants.

  2. Good for you to get a little vacation!

  3. I doubt if I’ll ever get to Tulsa (a good friend used to be a librarian there but I never had a chance to visit her before she moved), so thanks for these photos! It does feel like armchair travel, and that’s fun, too. Glad you managed a little get-away. It’s always nice!

  4. I always enjoy looking at the wonderful pictures you post when you are on vacation. It’s great to follow you in your travels.
