Love Entwined and POTC

Love Entwined – Esther’s BOM, Lucy Boston–Patchwork of the Crosses

I got quite a bit done yesterday – I wasn’t outside all that much – and book reading was at a minimum.  It rained on Tuesday night and the flies were out like crazy yesterday then in the evening it was mosquitoes – makes for an inside day.

I just have a small light box but it comes in handy – I really need to get a larger one – one day – I do not have a place to put a large acrylic sheet of “glass” so that I can put a light under it and do not have a glass top table.  It is harder to work with this but once you get started it works.

By moving the paper template with the fabric on top it is carefully done.  Yes long stem tweezers helps for placing those small circles.

Glue basted in place – I use Roxanne Glue Baste It and never have a problem with it – I only use short tiny applique pins when I need to reposition a piece of fabric as I am working on it.

Got started!  I have 3 of the tiny flowers done including the embroidered stems.

In between things I got all four borders for the Patchwork of the Crosses machine stitched.  I had thought to do them hand stitched so I could truthfully say the entire quilt was made by hand – but with those long strips – I just didn’t feel like it!  So I will say all but the border strips by hand Smile  I will try to get these machine stitched to the main body of the quilt today and then I can get one side of the 90 degree hexagons possible in place and then go from there.

What have you been working on?

(I am compensated for any purchases made through my links.)

Working with the light box you have on hand is making do. You are a true quilter! It\’s a beautiful block that you are sewing.

Karen, can’t wait to see your method for the border. I’m still hanging back seeing what everyone else is deciding on. I think I better get on my horse! I’ll be ready for part 3, some way.. I don’t want to fall behind. Sometime I get discouraged when that happens.

I’ve started the applique for DD#2’s wedding quilt, so I’ll just follow along with your progress on Love Entwined, and btw it is looking fantastic. I have my Nephew’s wedding quilt in my floor frame and DD#1’s quilt in my lap frame, that should keep me busy for a bit ….. lol ….

Hi! I haven’t been working much in my sewing, no much free time and too hot to work but my intention is that to change and sew a little bit at least in my hexie table runner which I’m trying to finish for a looong time but there it is jajaja. Soon I’ll get my hands in it. Lovely quilts and quilting. Love!
