August in Arkansas is not usually in the 50’s at night and mid-70’s daytime – and we had 3 or was it 4 nice days and nights in a row – today – expect to be warmer – knew it couldn’t last but sure was nice while it was here!
Even though our oldest daughter is visiting I still get quilting done – she divides her time up between here and her husbands family so she is in and out. Yesterday morning we went for a walk at the trails – in the back swampy area – no alligators spotted – we tried to spot it/them? didn’t have any luck – we did see turtles, birds and flowers. Photos are taken from the phone so couldn’t zoom in as much as I would like.
It has been such a cooler than normal and wetter than normal summer that the back area of the trails was getting overgrown in places – haven’t seen it look this overgrown in a very long time.
If you look closely in the middle of the water stands a Blue Heron – this is when the camera would have come in handy – that is as close as the phone camera would zoom
Flowers and vines of all sorts.
At home again in the afternoon after Melanie left I got the 3rd zigzag border for Love Entwined stitched and glue basted in place. I decided that today I will try to get the 4th border done also and glued in place and then I will stitch them down. I have 4 flowers to put on here also and then I will move on to the Part 3 that came out the other day.
I also dragged out the Diamonds are Forever blocks and stitched a couple more – long way to go on this one – but it has not been forgotten!
A half photo of the layout to be used – I need to start doing some white hexies to for the border row so I won’t be staring at white hexies forever. On the very edge of the edges I will do half hexies most likely and just bind the regular way.
