Yes I finally decided how I was going to finish Carousel and I got busy on it yesterday – half way done with the floral prints now!  these aren’t taking as much time – same design but less of them.  I decided less is just fine – I want to get done Smile  At first I thought I would need to add one more go around but then I thought it over and thought this looks just fine.

10 print blocks done – 10 to go.

Red and Green moving along – this area done on Saturday night.

And cookies!  Shortbread dipped in chocolate.  We are visiting mom on Tuesday – we always try to see her for her birthday ( 89th )– today – or near Christmas whichever the weather works out best for.  Mom has been pretty much house bound since the cold spell that brought so much snow and ice to the state over a week ago.  Tuesday is supposed to be near 60 so I called her and told her to expect us on Tuesday we will take her to lunch and shopping – she loves to be able to wander through the outside mall – so pretty at Christmas time and the sun will be out.  Cookies and presents coming along with us.  It will be a little cooler there in the northwest part of the state but still in the mid 50’s at least and sunny.

this shortbread recipe is super easy!

Brown Sugar Shortbread

2 cups softened butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
4 1/2 cups flour
chocolate for dipping if you wish

Cream the butter and sugar until well blended – then add the flour – the mixture will be course (kind of like pie crust) – if you need to add a tablespoon of water to get it all mixed that is what I did and it went together well.  roll and cut how you want to. I roll them fairly thin.  Bake on 350 for about 12 to 15 minutes – depending on how crisp you want them – don’t let them get too brown.

Sale at Craftsy ends at the end of the day.  I think most of the 65% off fabric is already gone from what I saw when I looked but still a lot at 30 to 40% I believe

Craftsy 80% Off Yarn Flash Sale through 12/16

Awesome projects in this post. That first quilt inspires me…. Great job.

I have never heard of brown sugar in shortbread. I’m going to have to make these. I wonder if you can’t just roll them in balls and flatten them like I do with my other shortbread recipe. Yum! Can’t wait to try them.

I am so glad the weather is cooperating enough that you can go visit your mom. And I finally started my Christmas cookie baking, too. In fact, one I am doing this morning is from your link.

I am going to try your cookies. I stopped cutting cookies in circles and make squares so that I don’t have to mess with the bits that are between the circles…lol
