Insanity Revisited and Quilt Festival

Dear Jane – “Insanity Revisited”, Lucy Boston–Patchwork of the Crosses, quilts

First of all I want to tell you all that my Patchwork of the Crosses quilt has been nominated for the the Viewers Choice award in the Quilt Festival!!  I’m pretty excited about that.  Now the time comes where you vote for your top 3 favorites in the viewers choice and in the other categories – so if you want  you can vote for my quilt for Viewers Choice and for Hand Quilting.  Click on the heart in the upper right hand corner of the quilts that you want to vote for.  Thank you all for getting me this far – I’m up against some pretty stiff competition – and this is the only kind of competition I ever compete in LOL – I love the laid back atmosphere of the blogging world!  Thank you to everyone who has voted for this quilt.

This is Patchwork of the Crosses:

On Friday night after the trick or treating  little bumble bee left our house I got busy at the quilting frame and quilted for a bit – still taking plenty of breaks though.  I am linking to Kathy’s Slow Stitching Sunday.

Dear Jane – Insanity Revisited:

I got 5 bags – 2 cups each of mashed pumpkin frozen – all cooked in two separate batches in my big crock pot – it took all day but even without an stove working right now it can be done!  I had one extra cup leftover and I think I will use it for waffles.  Operation Kitchen/dining room is still going on.  I’ve been told by several that I should skip trying to do Thanksgiving Dinner at my house – and do it elsewhere – not going to happen.  Pretty sure our youngest daughter and family will be here for several days – we will have turkey and pie the floor will be done by then – the painting might not be and all the trim work might not be done – but the floor will be done.  We have a good three weeks left to go – it is a small room – we can get this done!!

Wow was it chilly this morning and really all day – I would rather the weather changed gradually that just smack you with it one morning.  I know some of you actually got snow – glad it wasn’t us.  We  did not get a hard freeze though so the plants are still green out there – we did have about 33 degrees this morning and some frost on top of the camper and the roof – but not on the grass.  I think they did down in the valley though.  We will get the frost soon I’m sure.

Oh, Karen, congratulations! You know, this POTC quilt STILL makes my heart sing every time I see it! I’ve managed to make 3 blocks and am working on another. Had to set it aside to hand quilt this summer, but it has become my latest ‘to go’ project! Thanks so much for sharing with me! And GOOD LUCK!

Your POTC is my all time favorite, too. I have purchased a kit to get me started, although I’m not sure when that will happen. But, when I do start, I want mine to look something like yours 🙂
