Applique

Dear Jane – “Insanity Revisited”, quilts, William Morris in Applique-Floral Fantasy

Thanks for all the ideas for a name for the baby quilt.  I was busy with it for a bit off and on yesterday and managed to quilt enough to turn the rollers down again.  This one will go fast.  Here is my set up on Saturday night – Netflix on the laptop at the top of the quilting frame – it rests nicely on the top two rollers and a little table at my side with some hot tea – this is going to be a chilly week!  “Four Patch Delight” it shall be – thanks Kathi from Design Originals By KC for that idea on a name for the baby quilt.  Sherri at A Quilting Life is starting a new link up on Mondays called “Scraps Monday” you might want to check her out, I am her first link up today.  I am also linking up to Judy’s Patchwork Times – Design Wall Monday.

On Sunday Mike and I went to the fitness center in the afternoon and exercised for an hour and then we hauled  wood up to the porch when we got home for the fireplace – this week is to be colder than normal and wanted to refill the rack up by the door.  I got my exercise!  In the evening we watched one of the Hobbit movies that we had recorded – the first in the second set of those movies – love how you can watch one show that you have recorded and set up to record a different one at the same – first night of the new season for Downton Abbey – recorded and will watch it later.  I guess most of the tv shows should be back to their regular schedule now that the holidays are over.

While we were watching the Hobbit movie I was working on Floral Fantasy and made great progress with it – of course one should when a movie is almost 3 hours long!!   The flower and part of the leave on the left done.

Hope you all had a great weekend.  I never got around to cutting out my binding for Insanity Revisited but I hope to watch the video again and then get busy cutting.  Hopefully I will get it cut and pressed – sewed by machine too and ready for the hand work? Not sure but at least it should be cut!

(I am compensated for any purchases made through my links.)

It’s been years since I dabbled in applique. How beautiful yours is!

Four Patch Delight is a good name for that sweet little quilt. I had to get out this morning and about froze. I’ll definitely be staying inside for the rest of the day. 😉

LOVE the applique. Are you doing needle turn? That is the next technique I want to master.

What a great name for such a sweet quilt! And I love the applique!
I live in central Virginia…yesterday temps made it up to 70 degrees…today we are in the 50’s…the high on Thursday is predicted to be around 30 degrees!! What a roller coaster! And there is even mention of wintry precipitation on Sunday….wish we’d settle down to a normal weather routine… Although….when it’s nasty outside, I do more quilting…and, like you, I always have some hot tea nearby.

So happy you liked the name I mentioned 🙂 Loving your progress on floral fantasy too.. that baby quilt should move along fast if your thumb will let you! Glad you hauled wood as it is to be chilly all week I think! Kathi

Woohoo! Looks like you’re all set for a nice cozy week of quilting. It’s nasty cold up here today — wish I could stay in and quilt — although I do take hand-quilting to work for lunch time, so I guess that counts. Looks like you’re making great progress on your projects!
