Worry-Free Bias Binding

cutting bias binding

I had a link to this video the other day and I wanted to share it once again – I only watched the first part of this tutorial as that was all I needed, but this is the easiest way to cut bias binding that I have ever seen.  Just wanted to share!

(I am compensated for any purchases made through my links.)

I have been making bias binding like that for a while now – it really does make it so easy!

Great binding tip. I shall try that method next tme. The shop is a 2.5 hour drive from my home. A good field-trip destination.

Wonderful video! I will try to remember this the next time I need to do bias binding.

Thanks for sharing this. I’ll remember this when I need to make bias binding. I did notice on the video that she left the batting uncut when sewing the binding to the front (which is the method that I use). I always trim the batting and backing before sewing on the binding. I wonder what benefit is gained by leaving the batting and back on?

It is snowing like crazy here in the Washington, DC area and my quilt meeting was cancelled so I finally took the time to watch the video on bias binding. A great video when you are using yardage for the binding…..I usually use large pieces of fabric leftover from my backing fabric so I have to cut my biases differently. Next time I will give that a try.

I no longer leave my extra backing fabric and batting attached while sewing on my binding since I have way too often cut through the binding at the corners while trimming!!!! Guess I’m just not careful enough when trying to match everything up. No matter how hard I try not to, there is at least one corner that gets cut!!! It’s easier for me to trim everything first then sew the binding. :-/
