On To The Binding

Mini Tumblers – “Tumbling Into Insanity”

Wow – finally done with this big quilt – all that is left is binding it and washing/drying.  I worked steadily over the last 15 days to machine quilt Tumbling into Insanity – something I am not an expert at by any means.  I skipped only one day out of those 15 days to work on this – it took me 19 and 1/2 hours to do the quilting –  which means I could barely stand to sit at the machine for little  more than an hour a day LOL – but it got done.

Here are some photos before I get the binding on it.  Well be glad to get that done today so I can get all these tables put away and the room back in order.  I’ll take some photos of it spread out once it is finished.  I am linking to Freshly Pieced today and Lorna’s Sew Fresh Quilts and My Quilt Infatuation.

This is really a pretty quilt, you can be proud of her. The dots on the back are sweet too. I don’t remember what you said you are going to do with her but it is fine to keep her for yourself. You have a good day!

Congratulations! …I know you still have to do the binding, but this is one awesome quilt!! I love everything about it….first and foremost, it’s scrappy…the polka dot backing is perfect, and your quilting is amazing…like I said, one awesome quilt!
I have thoroughly enjoyed following along on the making of this quilt….I have had a tumbler quilt on my list for a while, and I think I need to move it nearer to the top of the list!
Looking forward to seeing the quilt one more time…after binding, washing and drying….

I am about to bind my daughters t-shirt quilt. It is attached, now to hand sew it down to the back. I bet yours goes more quickly than mine! I don’t do hand work often enough.

It looks fantastic! It can’t have been easing changing direction for those zig-zag quilting lines – I bet your arms ached!!! Love the spot backing – the perfect proportion to compliment the tumblers. One to be proud of I’m sure 🙂

I am delighted you got that large quilt machine quilted in just 2 weeks time.. amazing what you can do with determination… how are your shoulders? Is there something new to machine quilt in the near horizon or do those muscles now get a break? lol!
Thanks for sharing this victory and gorgeous shots with us 🙂

I love this! Could you tell me what size your tumblers were unfinished?
I’ve been cutting some out and have been trying to come up with how many I might need. How many in a row and how many rows?
I know this is a lot of questions but it sure would help me with an estimate. Thanks!

The quilt is absolutely gorgeous. I have followed your progress on this one, so many hours putting the tumblers together. Beautiful ending to a great project.
