Back to the Wool

gardening, Postage Stamp Quilt, Winter Wonderland

I think it is probably time for me to get serious about the wool applique for the Postage Stamp quilt borders.  I have everything I need to do this I just keep getting side tracked.  So yesterday I finished the stems! Next will be adding flowers and leafs and things – one by one it will get done.  This is the part I was working on yesterday – as I add other things to the border I will occasional get the quilt top out and lay the borders next to it to get a better look at what the end result will look like.   I’m sure the colorful flowers I have planned will perk this up a bit.

This much of the last row on Winter Wonderland was quilted on Sunday night.  Hopefully the same amount or close got done last night.  I really want this quilt done as I told a couple of you I am tired of it – this quilt just hasn’t held my interest but I want it done so I can get on to the next.  I am linking to Esther’s Quilt Blog today.

We had rain off and on yesterday so it was not an outside picnic type of day for us for the holiday weekend – we were by ourselves and went to Cracker Barrel for supper last night then on over to Lowes to get a new cover for the firepit – the last cover was a good one but didn’t last as long as it should have (in my opinion) and was covered in mildew and was rotting on top – canvas, oh well – found a sturdy plastic type at least that can be washed.

The various Lilies are starting to open – looking so pretty

Looking forward to seeing the flowers come to life on the borders for your Postage Stamp quilt!
Your day lilies are so pretty! I have some that same shade of orange….will be a few more days before the blooms start to open….

Our rains are coming in today. And my day lilies are nowhere close to blooming yet, so it’s nice to see yours.

    Hey Karen!
I am so curious as to how you do the handquilting. If you are sitting in front of the frame, how do you quilt the rows going up and those going to the right? I am only able to quilt rows going down and to the left! i have been following your beautiful work for so long, and would like to know,,,,
