A Little Progress on Several Quilts

Postage Stamp Quilt, Wagon’s West (dresden plates)

A little progress made on several quilts yesterday – not a lot but better than nothing!  Laundry also got done, 5 pints of pasta sauce which can take up a whole afternoon it seems (although this time I put it in the crock pot instead to keep the kitchen cooler) and the lawn cut and garden taken care of – not enough hours in the day sometimes at this time of year it seems.  We were lucky late afternoon yesterday to have storm clouds move in lowered the temperatures but we didn’t get the rain – but at 82 degrees last night I got the grass cut without breaking out into a sweat too much – I had put it off for days intending to have done it earlier in the week.

Thank you everyone that took part in the sewing room/fabric conversation yesterday – I’m still not getting my comments from my blog directed to my email for some reason – some come through but not all – I try to answer all of you but I know I might miss some of you but that is the reason why.  We have tried everything we can think of to fix it with no luck.

Wagon’s West – the quilting is moving along in the evening – it is my relax and unwind in the evening project.

13 pairs of half square triangles and four patches ready to put together into blocks to join those on the wall – which will then make Butterfly Parade a 28 inch square I think just guessing.

Half of one border for the Postage Stamp quilt, I still want to add a couple bees and/or butterflies

The newest bird – mot perfect by a long shot but this is whimsy!

My pasta sauce looks more orange then red but I guess that is because it is natural and no artificial color added?  I also put more veggies in it then just tomatoes – I guess you could call it a veggie pasta sauce – this one has tomatoes, zucchini, onion, basil, oregano, green pepper,  garlic and one small yellow squash, one can of tomato paste – I chop all the veggies up – take the skins off the tomatoes, cook it all down and this time thought I would try putting it in small batches in the blender to have a smoother sauce, not necessary but felt like it.  I didn’t want to get the canner out so these are in the freezer – not filled to the top to allow for expansion.  One container in the fridge for supper tonight.

I like your little red bird! 🙂 You sauce looks great~ I always put in extra veggies too. When our kids were small it was one of the few things I could hide extra vegetables in that they would eat. I got really good at hiding things in their favorite things. LOL Have a Happy Sunday!

Butterflies AND bees need to find their homes on that border!!! Your little birdie is totally endearing. The lawn got mowed yesterday/Saturday with 90+ heat and MUCH perspiring!!!!! Storms overnight failed to cool things off. Today…more of the same. Guess I’ll wait to see if the cooler temps descend. Awakened at 12:30 a.m. by the weather radio alarm of severe storms but they were just barely East of us and headed for LaCrosse. Whew! Adrenalin rush makes for difficult getting back to sleep!!!!!

You’ve been having a productive time lately!!I love seeing the progress on your Wagons West and your postage border is delightful 🙂 Interesting discussion in your last post; I don’t have a guilt about my stash, just regret there aren’t enough hours in the day to do everything that I want to with it!
