Butterfly Parade

Craftsy, Handful of Scraps, Postage Stamp Quilt, quilts, Wagon’s West (dresden plates)

After much consideration on the few names that were suggested for the Jacob’s Ladder quilt I kind of like the one “Butterfly Parade” from Janice of Color,Creating and Quilting – thanks for the idea Janice.  The quilt grew a little more yesterday 11 more blocks made.

I finished the hexie flower in blue and green for Handful of Scraps now either finish going around the circle making hexie flowers or start to join with the neutrals? Not sure.

Another bird for the Postage Stamp border in wool – this one is mistyfused in place and waiting to be stitched.

This much of the cross hatching on this part of the row going across on Wagon’s West.  I found that the Goodwife season 7 is now available for free on Amazon Prime so that will be what I am watching while quilting for a couple weeks (or less) – I say or less because I am spending a lot of time in the house lately – it was up to 96 degrees at 2 PM when I was on my way home from the fitness center from my early afternoon workout.  It went up after I got home – 98 I believe!!  Need I say more – a lot is going on it the sewing room while the dehydrator is doing it’s thing with the herbs.

Your hexies are really adding up!! And looking so good!!
Wagons West will be done in no time….
Love that new little bird on the Postage Stamp quilt appliqué border….
I didn’t get around to commenting yesterday, but I really enjoyed the park pictures….
Hope you get some relief in the weather! Here in Virginia, we have had a roller coaster of weather….some days hot and humid, some more comfortable….pretty noisy thunderstorm this morning early (we don’t usually get storms that time of day)….last Thursday we had a nasty storm roll through, with straight line winds that brought down trees on power lines, resulting in power outages….we were lucky that we only lost power for 48 hours…some were out a lot longer. We should have much cooler weather tomorrow, but with rain….So, between the hot days, and cooler rainy days, I will have more time for quilting related activities….

butterfly parade is a wonderful name for your quilt in progress 🙂 I just love your hexi’s.. if it were me I would tough it through some neutrals to get them more evened up than make more flowers… I would get bored of all those neutrals though to do at the end… you may not! 🙂
Love your wool applique.. the bird and flowers and leaves on the clamshell ground is just soo cool!!!
As for weather.. I live in Florida so it is hot here most of the time already! I try to keep a fan (or 3! lol) handy while I quilt in my Florida room hahaha! Kathi
