Quilting and Wool

Postage Stamp Quilt, Wagon’s West (dresden plates)

First off more progress was made on Wagon’s West and I got into the first wheel, not a lot done in that area but it is a start.

This much got done on Monday night – yes I was there for about 2 hours.

The Postage Stamp border has more done on it – I think I will do all the flowers where I have the stems first and then add in more detail included a few small birds and maybe bees and more leafs scattered about.

It is hard to get the detail of the flowers

It is going to be hard to get a full shot of this border because it is so long – I will have to think on how the best way to do that might be as I get more done.  I am linking to Sew Fresh Quilts:Let’s Be Social today and Quilt Fabrication: Midweek Makers and My Quilt Infatuation.

I picked a gallon of blueberries at my brother Jeff and sister in law Greta’s farm yesterday –no other pickers were there at the same time so I was able to spend an hour or so chatting while we all picked berries in the same area – they sell already picked also so they are always busy.  I had some leftover pancake batter from the weekend so I thought what better than blueberry pancakes for lunch!  I like to scatter my berries over the top of the pancakes and I have enough batter left for one more time! maybe this morning for breakfast – we will see.  So glad I got out there by 8:30 – I should have planned earlier – it was hot out in the sun even though it was just in the 70’s while we were picking – it did get up to 87 out here on the ridge by late afternoon – I image it got up to 90+ in town.  Might run back out for another gallon next week I will try to take some photos then – I completely forgot this time.

Your Wagons West is beautiful and you’re coming along nicely with the quilting. Yummy berries. I’m hoping we get up to Idaho in time to pick some at our favorite U-pick farm.
