Butterfly Parade

Do you ever have those dentist appointments that give you a major headache – I had one of them yesterday – I guess wasn’t so much of a headache as a “jaw ache” and the numbness – of course we need the Novocain and don’t know what we would do without it – but my eye even felt numb – work was done on an upper molar so it was half the nose, the tongue, the eye LOL – I couldn’t eat for hours and drinking water – well this happens every time I have work done on the top teeth I should be used to it.  Yesterdays work was a prep for a new crown – so glad that when I return in two and a half weeks I know the work will go quicker and I won’t need to be numbed!

I sewed off and on in the afternoon on Butterfly Parade to distract myself from my self pity – I the last three rows of blocks sewed into rows and then started at the top sewing the rows together – made some progress.

I had planned on doing more sewing after my soft food supper but decided to sit on the porch instead and then came in later to quilt a little.  I write my post in the evening and my jaw was still aching as I wrote this – I know “poor me” I’m a big girl and I will have the self pity stopped soon I’m sure LOL – talk later!!  I am linking to Cooking Up Quilts – MCM .

Everyone is entitled to a “Poor Me” day!!!! I have a dentist appointment tomorrow, hopefully it is just for a cleaning and checkup and they don’t ‘find’ anything !! I had to reschedule my regular appointment since it came during the time I couldn’t lay face up because of my eye surgery. I go for another checkup for my eyes in two weeks…never take anything for granted anymore.

I will commiserate with you and we’ll have a Poor Me day together – even as I speak my jaw is throbbing and pain meds aren’t helping. 🙁 You can take heart knowing that the quilt you are working on is drop dead gorgeous! I love it – those fabrics are fabulous! Thanks for linking to MCM – Tuesday edition. I hope you feel better soon!

I, too, had some dental work done. I broke a piece of a crown and thought I had better get it taken care of before the whole thing fell out. So got a temporary crown yesterday and hopefully it holds out for another 6 weeks as I’m going out of town. Sorry to hear of your issues. Sometimes I think they just use too much. I’ve had that happen to me that it winds up numbing the whole side of the face, but thankfully not yesterday. I’m jealous of your being able to sit outside and enjoy the outdoors. AIt’s just way too hot here. Take care/

You need a cute dentist like mine! I feel no pain when I go to see him. 🙂

I always dread going to the dentist. They always seem to “find” something. Hope you are feeling okay today.

I do not like going to the dentist either… esp if drilling/numbing and a crown placement is involved… but at least you have teeth left to attach a crown too! 🙂 I understand having down days… and I hope when you wake today (since I can only seem to catch your blog in the early morning hours… lol!) you will feel better and be clear headed with no pain 🙂
How big will your Butterfly Parade be you think? Will it have a border?? I am loving watching it come together… I am glad you are taking your time with it and enjoying it! Kathi

About a year ago, after I had my teeth cleaned, I had such a pain in my jaw that I had to take Tylenol. That’s heavy drugs for me! It went away after about a week, but the next time I had my teeth cleaned, I told the hygienist about it. She took it a little easier, giving me more breaks between activities, and I kept reminding myself to relax. I think as I get older, there are more things that could go wrong with my teeth and I worry more. So I get tense. But she also knows now to be more gentle, and that has really helped.

Love the progress with your butterflies – really pretty!

I hate that numb feeling after a dentist visit, you just don’t feel right for a while. Butterfly Parade is coming together beautifully!

I hate getting work done on my teeth! There’s not much worse than a shot in your mouth. Whatever happened to using gas?
