Postage Stamp Border

Postage Stamp Quilt, Quilty 365 – The Final Frontier, Retro Air Ship Propeller’s

Worked continued on the wool applique border for the Postage Stamp quilt yesterday after a morning spent outside working on the dismantling of the old flower bed – yes still working on it – we have made great inroads but the ground is hard and we haven’t had rain now for almost two weeks after having had so much in August.  I will try to remember to take photos to show the progress but it isn’t pretty LOL – just digging stuff up.   The weather went back to hot but not quite as humid – back to cooler weather again for the weekend I think.

Three of the leaves are stitched down but need the embellishing and the two flower son the left are pretty much done, I might do some French knots in the center of that light blue.  Linking up to Confessions of a Fabric Addict today and Fort Worth Fabric Studio’s and A Quilting Reader’s Garden and Crazy Mom Quilts.

The next Retro Air Ship Propeller block’s templates are ironed down (freezer paper) the next step that I do for hand piecing is to draw a seam line around and my cutting line – just how I do it, some might do it differently.

The Final Frontier is rolled down and work was starting on the left side last night.  I’m not positive but I think the half way point is the yellow square towards the top of the quilt or the light blue one at the very top.  I would have to search out a photo to take a look and count rows.

Some time back I told you that I was having trouble with comments – they used to come to my email so I knew they were there.  Then it stopped working and I have to go to the blog to see the comments.  With the last update that I had there is now an area where I can answer the comments straight to the blog and I think you get an email straight to you also.  I am going to try answering comments that way if you have a question or I feel it better to answer on the blog if  more than one persons asks the same thing.  So if you do not hear from me check back in the comments and see if I answered and if you get an email too let me know so I know that it is working.

Strange how things change with the Blogger platform for sure! So glad you are using the cooler September weather to your benefit and working on that space in your yard/drive. I look forward to pics of that 🙂
I love your wool applique… you are doing such a wonderful job with the embellishing too! How nice also to be almost halfway on such a large quilt as Final Frontier… keep up the great work friend!

I use WordPress not Blogger, they work a bit different but yes things constantly change with it.

The wool looks so pretty with the extra embellishing touches as well ! 🙂

91% humidity here when I got up at around 5:30. I actually went online to check it because it felt so sticky! 🙂

I’m trying to do some gardening – same thing an old flower bed. Looks like you’re all set to continue on your projects over the weekend – love them all. Hope the weather holds for you, and thanks for linking to WIPs Be Gone Awry – they’re all helping me work it out.

digging up old gardens can sure be a chore when the ground is so hard and has lots of rocks in it
