When I was at the store yesterday I picked up a couple small pumpkins and colorful squash for a fall decorating scheme in the dining room. I had found a large wooden bowl several months ago that I normally have rolled up placemats in but those have been moved for awhile and a different table running was dug out of the quilt cabinet. I made this table runner about 3 years ago it is from one of Kim Diehl’s books called “Simply Graces”. All of the vegetables will be eventually eaten so that makes it a cheap decorating scheme as nothing is wasted!
The wall to the right of the window is where I plan to put the snowman wall hanging and then change it out as the seasons change. The cabinet on the left side is full of quilts. Linking to Confessions of a Fabric Addict and Fort Worth Fabric Studio and Crazy Mom Quilts.
I had run to the store to pick these supplies up – it was a chilly evening last night and Melanie was bringing Aniya with her and a fire in the pit was happening – hot dogs over the fire on sticks and then marshmallows – for those that asked – no Aniya is not Melanie’s child she is Melanie’s husbands great niece they spend a lot of time with her as she is at their house almost daily. Aniya refers to me as Aunt Karen because in the south (and maybe other places) that is how a lot of children address people who are a bit older then them who are in some way related to their family but not actually to them.

All corners now have hexie flowers pinned to them – more to make as I will scatter a few more I between the vines – the vine on the wall right now was just for design purpose – other colors have been selected. I will wait to sew the hexies down until I get more made so I can move colors around just a little bit more.
Fabric picked out for the vines – two are Stonehenge line and one is fusion.
Found all the embroidery thread I needed to get started on the stitching and the base was begun for the cake stand that the snowman is standing in.
One little area to stitch still that is why the needle is in place – not the neatest in the stitching – still practicing! I need to lower the right side of the “plate” just a little bit on one end it doesn’t quite look placed right. Wool Stitching is something I am not totally used to still even after doing the two borders of flowers and leaves and things on the Postage Stamp. I am using repurposed red felted wool and it is a little different feel and thickness to it then the hand dyed wool I was using for the Postage Stamp quilt.
Craftsy is having a sale on supplies – this sale ends October 16. You will find that since they redid their web page that a lot of products are out of stock. I do not know when they will be getting in new products but the old products are on sale.
