Handful of Scraps

Handful of Scraps, Quilty 365 – The Final Frontier

I really want to get caught back  up on Handful of Scraps for what was already made and then get started making more units so yesterday I did just that and only have one more small area to do before making big “flowers”

Working on the couch

This much done

This little bit to attach – then a lot more work!

I was looking for the next project to do in wool LOL – yes I just finished and I miss those pieces.  I have always loved this book and made one project and think I might have found the next wool project.

The center medallion of this quilt – or maybe the whole thing!!  Isn’t this pretty.  I have always wanted to make this quilt and have never gotten around to it.

I got the lamp moved that was above the cutting table to the quilting frame and now I have good light to work with again without it being so bright that my eyes are bothered.  Several mention the expense of Ott lights – I have never paid full price for one of them – I only get them at Hobby Lobby with my 40% off and occasionally have found on line if they are 40-60% off.  Both of these lights have been in use for sometime now – over 5 years for sure and might be a bit longer than that.  The light bulbs do last a long time normally and I shop around for them too and sometimes find a replacement to fit from Lowe’s – although not specifically an Ott light bulb.

The smaller but brighter light is now attached to the shelf above the cutting table and will provide plenty of light as I have an under shelf light the next shelf over.  I am linking to Quilt Story: Fabric Tuesday today.

it is from the same book that I got Floral Fantasy from – I do love it – I kind of thought to do the center first and then if the feeling is there to let it grow start the other blocks

William Morris.. A book of his work is sort of a must on the shelves of a stitcher. You probably check it frequently.. I started a large needlepoint using one of his designs out of a great needlepoint book by Beth Russell full of adaptations from Morris’s work. But a room of his wallpaper might be overpowering.

I love Michele’s books – she does such great designs and she sent me more patterns from Australia early in the year and one of her a rather new smaller book for designs for tea cozies, placemats etc I haven’t tried any of those patterns yet but did a big quilt from the book I showed that I finished last year and is hanging on thee living room wall.
