Thanks for the help yesterday on thread suggestions for big stitch quilting on the Postage Stamp. My favorite place to order threads from is Red Rock Threads – no affiliation but a satisfied customer of 5 + years. Very fast service and decent shipping charges. I ordered Aurifil #12 in a green variegated color. I have some needles here that might work and I will try them first – if they do not work I will check Hobby Lobby and Wal-Mart before I order any (our two stores with craft items LOL).
My batting for the Postage Stamp quilt arrived nice and fast from the Fat Quarter Shop – they had a sale and I got my Quilters Dream mid-loft batting that I like in king size. (again no affiliation but have been happy with their fast service for years and years now) I am all set now for the Postage Stamp quilt – but it will be about a week before it is on the frame – but it is nice to know I am ready for it.
I am working on this area of the Final Frontier – I try to quilt two rows up from where the roller is so I will need to roll it down one more time. I was going to try to finish this length last night before rolling it down one more time – did I do it? we will see. It is taking me about 4 or 5 days to quilt all the way across – I have had sore fingertips so it is moving a little slower than it does sometimes. But I want to get it done!! I am determined to take at least a week off of quilting at the frame thought after I get the new quilt on it and let the fingertips do some healing – they heal quickly. I had hoped to finish this stretch of The Final Frontier last night but not quite I am linking to Red Letter Quilts today.
I think the 3 little hexies at the bottom are new since I last showed them – little by little and the stack will grow. I did not get around to Williamsburg Beauty yesterday – I was just busy with outside stuff maybe today? I am linking up to Sew She Can: Show Off Saturday today.
4 – 16 patch blocks now finished from the scrap bin of 2 inch pieces. These go so quickly when you are not color coordinating and just doing scrappy.
Melanie’s newest Cat Stitchery that she was working on the other night – it is from the same site that I posted a link to last week – well I thought I posted a link – I just found the post but couldn’t find a link – if you are interested in the pattern I will get the link from her. She needs to finish the sun at the top and I believe it is then done – so colorful and cute.
Finally got the flower bed dug up of all the bulbs, a few stray pieces of ground cover to get out before I dig it all up again to make sure everything is out and then re-plant.
All the big Crinum bulbs dug out – multiplied and I have twice what I started with 10 years ago or so whenever they were divided last.
the biggest one yet!
