Williamsburg Beauty

Handful of Scraps, Williamsburg Beauty

First of all before I forget — I have been told that some people are getting spam emails from me from various addresses.  Do not open anything that has an attachment from me – I would not be sending anything with an attachment.  I answer comments but never send an attachment – the emails are not even from an email address that I have!

One more border was cut and sewn on Williamsburg Beauty – pressed and back up on the wall.  It is now ready for the hexagon chain to be made and appliqued in place – this will go on for several weeks or a month I’m sure – 1/2 inch hexies!  the hexie chain as I had mentioned will be centered on the beige border which means a lot of it will be covered up but it was already in place when I came up with the idea.  This quilt is now about 43.5 inch square.

Other than that I got to work pressing fabric for 3 hexie flowers for Handful of Scraps.  I got three flowers cut and began to prep.  Here is one of them.  I had to take the photo with no flash or it would wash the colors out too much.   This at least gives more of a real color look to it.

Other colors you can kind of see although they are clipped together.  I will work on thread basting the other two and then get started with the hand stitching.

yes I hate it when people grab someones name and put emails with them – the two e-mail address that I have been told about have my name but neither address is anything I have ever used! I never send attachments unless someone ask me for something and then they know it will be there

The border of small, colorful squares is a thoughtful contrast with the calmer borders. Already a beautiful quilt. Raining and cool here in Wichita KS… calls for a pot roast in the slow cooker, and a good book.. after a stitching session.

we will have another warm day here then back to nicer fall weather tomorrow – I don’t like having to run the A/C at this time of the year but it was needed yesterday and today too. I’m still designing this quilt in my head as I go – I wonder what I will come up with!

Love that additional border on Williamsburg Beauty! Cannot wait to see the addition of those little hexies!
Overcast here in Virginia today….and much cooler….great day for sewing! I pulled out the “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” red work quilt….I had set it aside for a while; now, I am ready to get back to it!
It looks like Virginia won’t get hit as hard by Hurricane Matthew as initially thought; if the latest update holds true, we will be very fortunate. Our beach property in North Carolina may be spared as well…time will tell….
Good luck to your blog followers who are in the hurricane’s path….my thoughts are with all of you!

yes it sounds like it will be a bad storm – my niece that goes to college in St. Augustine FL left early and is safe on the other side of the state and my blogging friend Kathi said they are on their way to AL – hope everyone else plays it safe and gets out while they can

We are just now getting the gusty winds and northern bands of the rain. Looks like a good sewing day.
