A Clean Table Again

Postage Stamp Quilt, sewing room, Williamsburg Beauty

Well almost clean that is – still a flannel quilt kit stacked on the table as I have run out of places to put them!  I still have the table opened in the back for extra work room and I’m getting used to it sticking out in the room.

Had to take this photo at an angle though because of the table sticking out into the room!  I decided to just add the brown border for the final border on Williamsburg Beauty and call it quits other than adding the little circles at the diamond points.  I cut out a few the right size to just stick up there to see what they are like and I think they will blend in well.  I know the angle I took this picture at makes it look crooked but it isn’t.  A better photo later after the circles are done.  Linking to Sarah’s Confessions of a Fabric Addict ,Busy Hands Quilts and Crazy Mom Quilts.

Here are my sample circles to see what they would look like – a variety of colors will be used picked from those used through the quilt.

More quilting done on this one!  it is moving along pretty well.

A little more stitching on this one – the pattern didn’t have a hat on the snowman but I think his head looks a little bare and I just might add a top hat! – maybe with a red bow?  My pieces had gotten so wrinkly that I had to press them and it helps.  I didn’t use a fusible on this and I think on some of the pieces it would have been better to have – like the scarf – possibly some of the pieces were not felted as well as others – some had been repurposed and given to me if you recall.  Also I am thinking of outlining the snowman’s body as it kind of blends into the background too much.  Oh well, no big deal – I’m still learning on wool!

Those circles are just perfect for the quilt. The border looks great, too.

thanks Sue, the circles will certainly cover up my little mistakes on the points!

I think I would outline the snow man with black pearl cotton. He would definitely stand out. All your projects are progressing well. Hugs.

that is what I was thinking – I think the pattern that I was going by had a darker shade of background fabric then I do

The circles on Williamsburg Beauty look fine.. and the quilt is aptly named “Beauty”. Rich looking, colorful, and rather scintillating… and hand quilting will be the perfect finish. Thanks for your daily posting and pics. Glad you are getting used to the extended cutting table.. certainly makes life easier to adjust to necessity.

I hate the table sticking out so far – far really isn’t that far but an extra 12 inches taken out of a narrow room is – but that extra 12 inches on the table is so nice! yes Williamsburg Beauty will be hand quilted so when I finish it, it will disappear into the “to be hand quilted box” but hopefully not for long

almost done with the first row of blocks – would have finished that row last night except it was a talkative night with 3 sisters on messenger and one daughter texting half the night – quilting at the same time LOL

0oh, both quilts are so beautiful. I love seeing pictures of them every morning. Your wool project is looking good too. Yes, that table looks like it is very handy. Thank you so much for sharing with us.
