Merry Christmas Everyone

Handful of Scraps

ACHR1002I hope everyone enjoys their holiday – we had our celebration last night and then tonight I will roast a chicken and use the leftovers for soup this week.  I will be relaxing and listening to rain I think for most of the day – it will be quilting and movies and just quite at times I’m sure.

I finished one hexie yesterday and that was all the sewing I did.  It was so nice outside yesterday that I got in a lot of walking around the property for my exercise – I don’t know how many laps I did – I would walk 3 or 4 times around the loop then come back inside and do things, then go walk again and I managed to have 12,000+ steps on the fitbit by nights end!  By breaking up the exercise I can manage to get more steps in I think.

The one hexie added to the wall – 5 more hexies needed – maybe I will get those cut out today?  the newest is at the bottom.  Linking to Kathy’s Quilts today for hand stitching and Quilting is More Fun Than Housework.

Stuff your stocking with some sweet new skills! Just in time for your holiday “me” time, ALL Craftsy classes are $20 or less through Monday. After all, don’t you deserve a little something for spreading all that cheer?

(I am compensated for any purchases made through my links.)

Wow, 12,000 steps! I don’t think I’ve ever gotten over 10,000 except once at the Grand Canyon. But I am a sloth. A good day for me is 8,000. We’ll be at the mall tomorrow morning, though, walking off all the holiday food. Have a wonderful day!

I have been exercising good for two weeks straight – too many cookies have been being made! I have got to stop baking and go on salad now for the next week LOL

    12000 steps – well done! And that’s a lot of hexies. 🙂

I try to hit 10,000 every day – but usually ends up being 4 or 5 times a week instead. The hexies are coming along pretty good right now

Breaking up the dedicated walk works best for me , too. Anymore I just count time.. as I am so slow….last night, after everyone left, I walked awhile… just here in my gated and well-lit complex.. and the drizzle got heavy right after I got home.. Roasted chicken…not much better than this.. and especially for a tasty soup base. Merry Xmas

for just two people today I thought a chicken sounded good! and like you say makes a good base for soup later. I have to drive 12 miles to get to a trail to walk on or the fitness center and a lot of times I don’t do the full walk at the fitness center as I like to break it up so I started to do a lot of my walking at home last year – if I go round and round the property about 7-8 times (without going in the woods where I could trip over undergrowth) it makes a mile.

I need to get more steps in… maybe I’ll drag the kids out for a walk. Your hexagons are coming along nicely. I hope to get a little sewing in today.. maybe with a movie to have the kids settle down a bit from all the excitement of Christmas. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas day.

we are having a lazy Christmas Day – I have been out walking the land to get exercise again – some days it is the only way to do it. Melanie came over for a little bit but it is just the two of us for supper tonight – a nice roasting chicken! I’ve been getting more hexies ready to work on

Your hexie quilt is really growing! I try to get 10,000 every day, too, but today it’s cold and windy at our house so not very enticing to be outside. Hope you are enjoying your quiet Christmas Day!

today it is has been a little misty rain and warm – humid even – I got some steps outside but will be hard to get my 10,000 in today with the mist – don’t care for walking in the rain!

Merry Christmas to you too m’dear! 🙂 We are to have very mild weather tomorrow…and since we are all visiting my mom out in the country the kids will have a blast and will want to play outside there…mid 50’s or so!
As to quilting I think that I managed to quilt about 2 lines in my quilt this entire week and that was all that I could get done…too much other stuff going on / it’s the same everywhere I think 🙂
