Family and Playing Tourist

family, places

So glad that I have been able to visit with my sister and some of her family.  She has one son and his family that live close by and I had not seen them in ages.  The kids of course have grown up so fast, one already in college and one off to college next year then a gap in years and a 10 year old.  We spent part of Tuesday with them and will again on Saturday.

Great niece Bella, nephew Kevin, me, Vicki , and great nephew Nick

This time Nick was taking the photo and Kevin’s wife Maysie is in the photo  in front of him on the floor and their daughter Joie who arrived late is sitting next to me.

On Wednesday Vicki and I spent time in Yorktown and in Jamestown – the weather was kind of nasty the day we had originally planned to tour Jamestown so we went back when the sun was shining.   Here are some photos from our day out in Yorktown and Jamestown

A bald eagle in the tree? I’m not sure I couldn’t see it close enough was using my phone forgot the camera.   One of the small replica ships at Jamestown.

Great to have a sister…. who lives in Williamsburg.. who has a lovely deck … and a neat family of her own… But even the best little vacation ends, and then one is happy to be home.

So glad you are enjoying your time with family! I know your sister is happy to have you there with her….glad to see that you have been able to get out and enjoy what that area of Virginia has to offer! The “Colonial Triangle” (Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown) is really a pretty part of the state and, my goodness, there is so much of our country’s history there!! And you are able to explore the area when it is not overrun with tourists, like it would be in the summer….

Yes having a great time visiting – doing a bit and seeing family – both sides of family – saw a niece for lunch today on Mike’s side of the family – she lives within an hour of Vicki. – the area around here is beautiful – not busy at this time of year of course and therefore some things are closed – but enough to do considering the weather at times is chilly or rainy
