I didn’t touch the Star quilt yesterday. I thought I would give it a day or two thinking about binding and I needed a break from the sewing machine! Thanks for all of your suggestions – I think I will be giving it a scrappy binding including two shades of aqua that I have left plus some of the dark blue from the back combined with other colors that are in the scrappy squares.
The hexie box came out last evening and I got to work finishing the hexie that I had been occasionally picking up the last couple days and got it finished. Other than that it was reading, laundry and general laziness for a Saturday!
Joining in with Kathy’s Slow Sunday Stitching I will be working on my hexies today. The four of eight hexies needed to finish the main part of Handful of Scraps are now done – four left to do the grouping in the lower left corner are the ones being basted for the next one. These 3 color groupings are for the final three needed.
These fabrics have been selected from the bins for the Retro Air Ship Propeller quilt – this will be for the next 5 blocks – I thought maybe I would get more done if I got more than one block selected at a time. If I get to it today I will get these pressed and maybe cut out.

I decided to get 3 different fabrics from the sale – a yellow from the Boundless Blender Group, a gray and a brown from the Boundless Solids – something other than my normal white/cream for background fabric. Not sure what quilts they will be used in – and it might be awhile before I use them but at these prices now is the time to buy 🙂
