Handful of Scraps

Handful of Scraps

EDITED: 10:50 AM  has anyone gotten the wide back fabric from Connecting Threads – do you like it, does it feel the same as all your other quilters cotton fabric does?  It is currently on sale – no affiliation – just looking at the wideback sale and wondering – I bought one of them quite some years ago and  at that time I wasn’t satisfied with the piece I had and I wonder if they have changed over the years.

This quilt is moving right along!  Here is the weekends work – the lower right hand corner is now done.

But before I can finish the side and the top more neutrals have to be thread basted – about 50 of them if I count right.  The stack of cut pieces on the lid of the box are the pieces I have counted out to baste – the ones in the box that are cut are extra for now.  Linking to MCM#65 Cooking Up Quilts, Love, Laugh, Quilt and Em’s Scrapbag.

Maybe I will have them ready in a day or so.  I think today I will get back to the propellers and square up that border and maybe get the red border attached too.  Storms coming in off and on all week, I don’t know if I w today and I’m sure I will find I am making a short list for the store as well.    No other news here today – thanks all that ordered Craftsy products from this weekends sale from my links, I appreciate it.

(I am compensated for any purchases made through my links.)

It looks wonderful. I hope that your storms are mild / normal. I just saw the golf ball sized hail and baseball sized hail on the news that some states recieved….awful!

You’ll get those hexies done in no time Karen. I love basting hexies. You did a lot of work over the weekend, it looks so good. The hail was just north of us, thank goodness. We didn’t even get a drop of rain, but we might get some all this week. Spring has really arrived when we start getting the storms. Happy basting.

I have purchased yardage and lots of kits from Connecting Threads and have been happy with the quslity, but not the wide backing.

I’ve purchased backing from Connecting Threads but I haven’t used it yet. Need to get the quilt finished I bought the backing for. I thought I would try them once. I’ll let you know what I think whenever I get the quilt in the frame.

I purchased fabric from Connecting Threads before, but not impressed. I ended up giving the majority away to my cousin. I think it more like Jo-ann’s fabric.
