Murrieta Stars

Handful of Scraps, Murrieta Stars – Flannel, Postage Stamp Quilt

All of the stars are finished.  Now I need to press the big piece of yellow flannel and start cutting out the all the pieces that go next.  I think I have about 6 yards of fabric here so well be busy pressing and cutting.  The quilt will be set on the diagonal and has blocks of the yellow flannel and setting triangles.  Then a border of 2.5 inch squares using all the colorful colors in the quilt and then yellow flannel again.

This is the next color to be used.  Linking to Confessions of A Fabric Addict and Crazy Mom Quilts.

The second side of hexies was appliqued in place and ready for me to start working on the 3rd side when I get around to it!  Not exactly sure when that will be.

A little more quilting was done – this much left to do.

I’m so glad I got the grass cut yesterday we are to get a bit of rain today through the night – maybe up to 3 inches – the yard will be drenched and the grass would have had to wait a couple days for the yard to dry out – now it will probably grow fast and have to be done all over again!  I’m supposed to meet Melanie for lunch today, I sure hope the rain won’t be horrible!  I’ll come home soaking wet I bet.

You are making great progress on your stars. I like the colors together. I can’t wait to see it all together. And I really admire your hand quilting. I have loved watching your progress on Sundays. You have come so far.

Boy, you were a busy girl yesterday! Everything looks so good Karen, and you even cut the grass! Have a safe and fun lunch with your daughter. I always had so much fun with my daughter when they were stationed at Ft Hood here in Texas, but now they are at Ft Knox in KY, so I don’t get to see her as often. We are supposed to get some rain this evening too.
