A Little Done

Midnight Garden, scrappy baskets

Who can concentrate on stitching when it is 80 degrees, shady and breezy on the porch.  I had intended to stitch some baskets and all I got done was one little basket.  I spent more time with my eyes closed and listening to the birds then stitching.  Hard not to when it is so relaxing like this.

And I got one stem cut out LOL – not much progress on Wednesday

What have you gotten done with this week? Has your week been as slow in the sewing area as mine has?

Such a lovely porch! Not sure I would get anything done if I had one like that! Love your litttle basket blocks.

Your porch is so inviting : ) I actually got back to doing a bit of applique this week ( it’s been awhile )

Thunderstorms this morning and a wet squirrel sitting out on the chair on the porch and my sons dog wishing he could go out there too, ha ha! He’s at the window as I type going crazy….

Oh, your porch area is so pretty! I continue to work on my hexagon and bow tie projects. Making progress, albeit very slow progress.

Hi Karen, about 2 years ago I found the original Celebrate Hand Quilting on google. It started when I was searching for a certain frame which I funny bc at that point I had not even picked up a hand quilting needle in my life. But Karen’s Quilting and Celebrate Hand Quilting came up on GOOGLE. So I clicked. I read and read and read all about you, your quilts, your frame, all the archived CHQ posts and comments. I was drawn to you like a magnet. Then I saw there was a group of FB. I joined! But you weren’t there and it’s a ginormous group. Fast forward to now. I hand quilt and love it! But the group has gotten so large and densely populated. I happen to come across a comment you left on a blog(can’t remember which one) where you mentioned you were in a smaller group. I would love to join that smaller group. Can you please email me where it is? I love all the quilts in the CHQ group but I’d love to join a smaller group. Sorry this is so long but I wanted you to know how and when you influenced me to step back from the longarm and enjoy the slow stitching side of quilting. Amie 🙂

Yes, I’d be on that porch all day too! I’m still working on my baskets too, I’m determined to do at least one a day, mainly in the evening, since my yard keeps me busy during the day. We’re leaving for Florida tomorrow moring to visit my son and his family. I can’t wait to see my two granddaughters, 12 and 14! Enjoy your porch and I’ll stay in touch.

My week has been slow because I’ve been catching up from a trip out West. I’m hoping to actually get something accomplished today.

We had a similar day here in Virginia yesterday, and I spent the day working in the yard, spreading pine needles around our azaleas…started out with 25 bales…managed to get 17 of them spread around…then ran out of energy… We are having rain today, which is just as well since I need a couple of days to recover!! Likely won’t get back to it until middle of next week….Needless to say, I did not get any stitching done yesterday….but I should be able to spend a good bit of time hand piecing today, working on those “x” blocks….
Love your porch, Karen! Looks so inviting…I can see that it would be a great place to relax. We have a good sized deck, but I think I would spend more time sitting on it if it were a porch instead! You can enjoy your porch even on a rainy day! Not possible with the deck….
