Baskets

Murrieta Stars - Flannel, scrappy baskets

This post has been edited due to a copyright issue – for those that had already seen my blog post you know that I plan on starting a new quilt for Melanie with a bird block.  Melanie had found the bird block photo someplace on line . There was no information with it and no watermark on the photo.   Only problem is was that the block has evidently gotten on line without the permission of the designer.  You can see from a few comments posted that the link was given to me – I will be purchasing the pattern from the etsy shop and then I will share the making of the quilt like I always do.

Only these three baskets were made Saturday night to Sunday night.

And 2 of the chains for the long side of Murrieta Stars – I hope to get those attached to the border today and then measure and see how long of a chain I need for the top and bottom.  Linking to Love, Laugh, Quilt and Em’s Scrapbag.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

I’ve been wanting to do a quilt with rectangular blocks for a while, but I have too many UFOs now to do anything but think about it. That bird is really cute and should look great in those batiks. I don’t paper piece much as I hate taking the papers out, but newsprint is the easiest to remove IMHO. A nice thing to do while watching TV.

I love that bird block. I’ve been pondering doing some of those blocks too but I can’t start another project!

That is my friend Lynne’s Liberated Bird – her most excellent tutorial for these free pieced (not paper pieced) birds is in her Etsy Shop: (https://www.etsy.com/shop/PatcheryMenagerie#items)
