Mini Hexies

Fall Harvest (scrappy baskets)

Yesterday was a very lazy day.  I didn’t do much at all. Enjoyed the porch.  We had a storm come through on Saturday night – lots of thunder and lightening and 1.25 inches of rain.  Wind was strong – we had a dead tree drop – into the woods so no harm!  Lots of little branches came down and a couple larger ones but nothing bad.  I got the yard cleaned up in the morning and filled that small trailer that I pull behind the lawn mower and then I was done – the rest of the day I took it easy and relaxed!

The bigger part of the tree which was about 20 feet easily or even 30 fell down into the trees, can’t even see it in this photo.

Working out on the porch putting the little hexies together – these were mostly put together last year and then just sat in it’s little project box.

A stack of fabric put aside for baskets – these are mostly red prints.  In the box are the fabrics for the birds – pre-soaked to get the bleed out all are batiks except the white.  And the little project box of hexies – I will get these put together and then gradually make some more now and then – well it be big or small not known for now.  We will see.  Linking to Love, Laugh Quilt: Monday Making today, Em’s Scrapbag, and Cooking Up Quilts MCM#74.

So glad you didn’t have any bad stroms. We had some rain too, nice and slow Sunday morning. I love those cute little hexies! I have a Grandmother’s Flower Garden project going on, but I haven’t worked on that for a while. My family thinks I’ll be working on it forever! Lol! Mine are one inch ones, I don’t think I could do half a inch. I sewed three baskets since it was a rainy day. I really like your fabric for the baskets. Have a fun day!

Your hexies are beautiful, Karen! How neat to have projects like that packed away waiting for you when you need a change of pace. And you (unlike me!) are a WISE WOMAN to presoak those red batiks! I like to learn those lessons the hard way, apparently…!!

Those little hexies are so cute. Almost every time I look at your blog I want to start a new project.
