Scrappy Baskets

Fall Harvest (scrappy baskets), Murrieta Stars – Flannel

Yesterday was so sunny and low 70’s that I got some brush cleared in the morning and was so busy with that and laundry that I didn’t get around to any sewing all day long until evening.  I have stacks of the 2.5 inch squares ready to sew into chains for the borders of the Murrieta Stars and will get to that late today or tomorrow.  Melanie will be over for part of the early afternoon and she is making lunch for us today.  All you mothers have a great day!!

26 baskets are now made and I have another 7 prepped.  I had looked the pattern over closely and the one in the book also has a handful of nine patch blocks scattered thoughout and a couple plain squares as well – so I might not have to actually make 300 baskets if I do like the pattern- or I might just have baskets – we will see – long way off from doing the layout for the whole quilt.

These 7 waiting to be appliqued.  I will work on some of these for my Slow Sunday Stitching with Kathy. Also linking to Quilting is More Fun Than Housework.

Mike got me some roses for Mother’s Day and more chocolate & a bag of almonds (another favorite snack – plain almonds, no salt a very good healthy snack) – my supply that he gave me for Valentines Day had acutally run out and I have been buying more of my favorite Dove Dark Chocolate

Stacks of squares ready for Murrieta Stars.  My cutting table is getting so messy – I do believe I will finish up the flannel star quilt before I get back to the wool applique – it is just getting to disorganized to work on many projects lately.
