Little Hexies and Nine Patches

Granny’s Gone Crazy, scrap quilts

Happy 4th of July everyone in the states – have a good holiday.  Not sure how much I will get done today – Melanie is coming over for a little while and then we will see.  Might do hamburgers on the grill tonight but we are not having a big celebration and mainly just the two of us for most of the day working on the sewing room while Mike is off this week.

I think I had close to 25 little hexies done the other day and forgot to show for Sunday’s work so took a photo last night of what had been done – I think I have 4 or 5 left to sew in place and then make more of them.  It really hardly ever looks like more is done but there is more – promise!

From the back everything that you can see white freezer paper is new – I usually take all the papers out except on the very edge when I get done with a lot and will remove papers when I get the last of the ones made in there before I start to make more.  Linking to Koka quilts today and Esther’s Quilt Blog.

All of the nine patches are now made and pressed – next up is to square up and then start to put them with the half square triangles.

We just keep having more rain – we had about 1.5 inches a couple days ago and then almost 2 inches on Sunday night – more last night? the weatherman said close to another 1.5 by Wednesday  – at least the rain has kept the temps from going up too high.

Don’t forget the sale on Craftsy classes continue through midnightall classes are $20 or under.   I just checked and AccuQuilt is having a July sale also – link on the side bar.  Thank you all for ordering through my links when you need something – I sure do appreciate it.

(I am compensated for any purchases made through my links.)

Happy 4th, Karen! Will be pulling scrap fabric to start my Tumalo Trail Squares! Can’t wait! And just cut blocks for another quilt top using “Old Italian Block” method for this one. I think your rain is coming down south! We have it off and on for the next several days (central Alabama) but it sure has kept me from having to water!

more than enough rain here – it can stop any time now LOL – by time it all dries out it will be time to cut grass again. Are you doing the “Old Italian Block” method that Wanda is doing?

Happy 4th! DD and a friend are coming over for a very simple barbecue. And the high is supposed to be 83, so a very nice day.

🙂 us too – we live in the country so have to travel to next town over to see them and it is always so crowded – you have to get there so early to get a spot, quite doing it after the kids were no longer kids

Your hexies are growing, and they’re getting prettier with each hexie! It’s nice you get some sewing done even with working on your sewing room. We had over a inch of rain last night too, so nice. My daughter and I are going down to Waco tomorrow, about two hours away, to see Magnolia Farms of tv’s Chip & Joanna Gain fame. It’s going to be quite an adventure I think, with all the tourists waiting in lines to get in. We are planning to be there very early so as not to have to stand in line too long. Hope you have a wonderful 4th with your family!
