I Meant To Sew

Round We Go

I really did intend to get this circle finished and start on my vines for the Fall Harvest quilt – but somehow time got away from me and I didn’t do much at all except read.  Sometimes that is how your day goes doesn’t it.

So I got this much done on this circle for the second star circle of the 1st design for Round We Go

round we go

I was glad to hear my niece that goes to school in northern Florida made it back home to Maryland she and a friend both drove their cars back following each other all the way – first they got the house that a group are renting for the school year sandbagged and possessions moved to the 2nd floor.  So thankful that she is safe and my brother and sis in law won’t need to worry about her.  I sure hope all my Florida readers will be safe, I know some left and some are going to ride it out.

I have seen on the news that it is possible that the storm will turn a little and eventually end up in Tennessee or Kentucky and maybe even the eastern side of Arkansas might end up with some rain – just when we are heading out to Paducah of course! but we know it will be a rain storm not a hurricane by then and won’t be raining every day we are gone I’m sure.

Maybe today I will get done with more sewing?   I did get varnish coat #4 on the table tops and door yesterday – something was done!

(I am compensated for any purchases made through my links.)

yes it is – I really feel for those that live there – I’m afraid I would have been boarding things up, packing & hitting the road a week ago – it would have been time for me to leave before the gas stations and the roads got insane

Sometimes taking a break.. especially reading …can keep one from burnout. But isn’t it nice to look back and focus on a chore that was accomplished……

yes it is – I did watch a movie last night and finished the circle while watching/listening – I tend to listen more than watch at times – and the circle is finished! I must get busy on the vines now for Fall Harvest

Have been reading your blog for years and am amazed by how many quilts you finish! Could you tell me under what heading you found the Sue Daley Round We Go pattern and templates on Fat Quarter Shop I cannot find it at all. Thank you

I just looked and searched and searched and they have a lot of her stuff but no more of these – they must be out. I will follow up a few leads and see if I can track down a place you can get them – in the states right? – a facebook group I am on was just talking about this the other day I will see if any of them found a site

Judy I heard back from a contact – the Mountain Creek Quilt Shop in Tennessee has them http://www.mountaincreekquilters.com/ – you can contact them directly – they have either the BOM with fabric or the patterns only

Reading is so relaxing isn’t it? You got a lot done with vanishing your table and you don’t have a deadline, so you can do what suits you best. This morning I saw Irma is headed for Naples, where my son and his family are. She keeps moving around so we will see. He’s decided to ride it out, so all we can do is wait and hope for the best. He went from Houston’s Harvey to Florida’s Irma. He’s my baby, 44, and likes adventures. I think he’s going to have a big one this time! I hope the rain is finished by the time you go to the fall show. Enjoy your Saturday.

I hope your son will be fine – I am so glad my young niece made it home safely and out of Florida. I think the tables will get 2 more coats of varnish to make them nice and hard – maybe 3. then it is on to the floor and the assemble of the desks and the quilt frame. The floor will take awhile too though – all that crawling around on your knees at 65 isn’t fun!

I can’t seem to get anything done today, either. My in-laws refused to leave their home in Naples, FL, 7 miles from the coast. Now it looks like they are going to get a direct hit and it is too late for them to get out. We’re so worried that all we can do is pace around the house and keep checking our phones for storm updates.

so sorry they wouldn’t leave – I never understand it – I was so glad to hear my niece left early – but then she is a college student and although renting a house with others and working part time she had no reason to really stay and got home Friday morning after a very long drive. We were all so glad to hear she got out – last year she stayed but drove to another location in FL where a friend was and rode out the storm ok but her dorm had 4 feet of water on the first floor.
