Fall Color Has Arrived

Murrieta Stars – Flannel, weather

It seems like overnight that the trees have begun to change color and rapidly dropping their leaves.  I walked around the yard a bit late afternoon taking some photos.

The two trees close to the house – the one with red leaves is the one that will be cut down in the next couple of days.  They were not able to make it out yesterday but they say Tuesday if no rain.

From another angle you can not see the red leaves as well at this angle but it is with the tree that is right next to the porch.

A sweet gum tree at a distance from the house.

This area is not as colorful but it will be soon I’m sure.

I got a little quilting done on Thursday night on Murrieta Stars

And the next is marked and ready to stitch last night.

for you late in the year – for us close to the same time of year. Usually I am raking and mulching almost all of November and intend December

What beautiful colors your trees have, just gorgeous! We have a little bit started here and there, but not much. Lovely weekend weather here in the DFW area, in the 80s, and no humidity. Your quilting is so lovely as usual, and really coming along. Have a great Saturday.

very humid and damp here the last couple days – just got back from a walk at some trails that are about 10 miles from me – I feel damp now and only 65 degrees!

We are getting some color here in Virginia as well….we have neighbors who used to have a maple tree that turned all at once, in one day’s time, and the next day dropped every leaf! Did that every year… It was the most brilliant yellow you can imagine and I always looked forward to it…it has been gone several years now, and I miss it…I know that sounds silly, but I really do miss seeing that tree!!

I have never had one turn and drop leaves that quickly – but close!

  • So sad to read that that beautiful red leafed tree is coming down but is understandable that it is too close. Here in ND we don’t have a lot of trees but what we do have has been gorgeous this fall. You are making great progress on the hand quilting.

Even though we have so many trees I always hate to have any of them cut down and I dread finding out in the summer how much shade will be missing

Beautiful fall color! We took a drive up thru Flower Mound this am and the colors were quite good considering we are in Texas. One small tree in our neighborhood glows reminded me of the gorgeous color we had when we lived in Wisconsin. Your sewing room looks great. I bet your glad to be able to start using it again after all the remodeling.

I am so glad to be back in the sewing room and spread out – it took longer than I had initially thought it would, but when we first decided we didn’t know the wiring would need to be redone as well – old houses – you always find more than you expect don’t you! AND – I am so glad to have won this new sewing machine and will be begin to use it although I do need to watch more video’s to learn all the little ins and outs of it. I plan on getting an extension table for it as well.

I do love the room Kathi – it is so much more pleasant to be in! and I like my work tables so much better than what I had although I liked that table and it was the height to work from it wasn’t the right height to sit at! – so nice that this table can go up and down to suit what I am doing.
