Hand Quilting

Murrieta Stars – Flannel, sewing room

Yes just more of the same old stuff here – I have been busy almost every evening working on the quilting for about an hour or so and then reading or applique  – Monday I didn’t do any applique but I did plan to last night – I hope I did after I wrote this LOL – I really have to make myself change out projects now and then but when I get back to hand quilting I don’t spend as much time on my other projects unless my fingers are hurting – so this time now that I have had my frame set back up for awhile now I want to remind myself to quilt one night – then maybe just a little bit the next night and then move into the living room and watch tv in there and work on applique to move a project along in there as well.  To many waiting to be finished.

I am just doing simple outlining on the stars

Three coats of varnish now on the sewing table – I intend to do one more today and hope that will be it – it is looking pretty good.  When it is done the two tables will be lined up next to each other against the wall and I will put a cutting mat down on the sewing table as well with the machine on top of it and there will be an area available to trim edges or whatever right there.

Our yearly trick or treater came to visit – isn’t she darling!  – she gets spoiled – no other kids stop by out here in the country — every year I buy a small bag of mini candy bars – Aniya gets some and we get the rest LOL  it really would make sense to just buy a regular size bar and give it to her so we don’t have any – but what is the fun in that!

She looks adorable! I’ve been on vacation and have missed reading your blog. Will try to catch up and see what you’ve been working on later today.

2 thoughts on your ??? a few back:
Sewline Water-Soluble Fabric Glue Pen: suggested on Craftsy’s English Paper Piecing class. On Amazon. When I took a course w/ Sharon Schambler she recommended Roxanne’s Colonial Needle BG163 Glue Baste It w/ skinny tip (refill w/ Elmers afterwards she said). Susan

I don’t like to use Roxanne’s Glue Baste It for EPP – it sticks to the papers way too well – very hard to get the papers out without leaving half of them behind – my opinion

She is a beauty in that outfit! Your quilting makes that star so pretty, I really like it. Just take your time on your projects and enjoy every one, the quilt police won’t come and take you away if you don’t, lol! I love your tables, so pretty with all the varnish. We only had a little over 70 trick or treaters come, I think the weather had put a bit of a damper on it. I did over 7,000 steps just going to the door, lol!

I want to take my time but I keep telling myself I need to finish a couple first before I start more! I did finish the second side of border so on to the third for the leaves.

Your trick-or-treater is so darn cute. We live in the suburbs but on a steep hill and our town has an organized go to the shops for the children so we have usually less than 10 come to the door.
I have thought of getting full sized candy but then I worry the next year we would get hundreds of children.
I am very pleased with just a few
I love the quilt you are quilting

Colleen I know what you mean – I am happy to get my one darling trick or treating and know that in a couple more years it will be back to none 🙂 we just live too much in the country for it. I’m glad to have become Aniya’s honorary great-great aunt by marriage LOL – she is my son in law’s nieces daughter.

It looks to me like you’re making progress on your hand quilting – moving up from the border into the stars! The new table is so pretty – almost done and ready to use, too!

    • Karen Nov 3, 2017

yes this quilt moves fairly easy right now
