Half Way Done

Murrieta Stars – Flannel

The quilting on Murrieta Stars is half way there and at just under 50 hours and  at about 6 weeks of work.  I think I will take a week off of it now and let the finger tips heal and work on the  wool Christmas eggs or they will never get done.  I didn’t touch them yesterday – the painting for the kitchen became more involved then planned.  Mike had to repair a few spots on the ceiling when taking down the light fixtures and that has to dry good before I paint.  I started on the opposite side of the room from where he was working and eventually got everything taped with painters tape that needed it.  Then I was rounding up all my supplies and couldn’t find the roller extension for painting the ceiling and because of this and that and everything else barely got started on painting but yet had such a full busy day.

Now today I hope to get the primer white up to cover up the green that the ceiling and walls had been.  Then decide – go with just plain white or very, very pale gray or egg shell white type of color.  I do not want to do this again .  If I go with a pale color I won’t get tired of it – well maybe I would get tired of it but not like I would if it was red or something like that LOL.  I think this whole process will take me 3 days or so – I don’t do it as fast as I used to for sure!!

Murrieta Stars the last part across the length finished last night –

Looking back across from the blue star there in the front – this is the half way row – all done!  Linking to Em’s ScrapbagSmall Quilts/Doll QuiltsMCM #98-Gone Stitchin and Monday Making

When I get back to work I will be starting here on this blue star at the other end – this will be star row 4 out of six rows of stars.  But like I say give me a week of painting and resting fingertips and I’ll get back to it.  I plan on working on the wool eggs and maybe get back to work on the November Round We Go circle stars.

Craftsy’s  12 Days of Craftsy Sale  continues Day4 is today and Day 12 is December 12th – I wonder what it will be today – did you need batting yesterday? I have enough to last me awhile right now so I passed on it – I should be getting my Black Friday order any day now, I forgot if it said Monday or Tuesday – I ordered some yardage so looking forward to seeing it.

(I am compensated for any purchases made through my links.)

Painting the kitchen is so labor intensive! We need to paint ours, and I have been putting it off. I’m sure you’ll be so happy that you did it when yours is finished. Murrieta Stars is really coming along!

it is more work then I remember – I used to paint the kitchen every 4 years or so and then I didn’t do it for a long time and last did it around 4 years ago -I hate the color it is now but I can tell I will be taking a lot of breaks

yes it is going quickly – sometimes I can do a quilt this size in 3 or 4 months and other times about 6 months or so

Yay, half way done! Your fingers definitely need a break from all that quilting. It seems that when a project gets started there’s always more to it, isn’t there? ? I got my Black Friday quilt kit on Saturday from Craftsy, such beautiful Kaffe Fassett fabric. It just makes me smile, it’s so sunny looking, I guess that’s why its called Sunshine Stars. Hope all goes well with the painting.

I will have to look and see what that kit looks like – I have been painting already this morning but I need breaks off and on all the time to stretch my back – I hope to get the primer coat done this morning and then off to the paint store later today to pick out what I want for the primary color

thanks Emily – I am certainly faster at hand quilting then I used to be – I remember when it took me a year to do queen size quilt – but then I didn’t quilt nearly every day either

Wow, that’s a major accomplishment! This quilt is moving along quickly!

yes this quilt is moving rather quickly

I don’t do anything as quickly as I used to. But slow and steady gets the job done! 🙂 Good luck with your kitchen painting. You’ll be so happy once it’s finished.

I don’t know why I was thinking that I could get all the painting done in one day LOL – I just don’t move that fast anymore and I don’t really like painting either – I am getting more and more to the point of wanting to hire someone to do it all

    Your hand quilting is beautiful!!

thanks Beth – I will probably be back to quilting tomorrow – I have the kitchen done and nothing more I can do with it until the walls harden up in a couple days and I can hang things back up
