Merry Christmas

quilts

ACHR1002Merry Christmas everyone.  Thank you all for all the nice Christmas wishes yesterday.   I hope you have a great day doing fun stuff or just relaxing and eating good food.  If you do not celebrate Christmas I still hope you have a great day!

Mike and I celebrated Christmas last night with Melanie and Ric and so today we are on our own just chilling out and relaxing. Yesterday afternoon while it was still quite  I was Slow Sunday Stitching  on the next round in the middle of the Hertfordshire Quilt.

And a little quilting from Saturday night and Sunday afternoon on Murrieta Stars.  Do you have any quilting plans for the new year – goals set or just winging it?

My plan for the upcoming year is to finish some of the many unfinished quilts I’ve started over the years.

The 24th and 25th are quiet at our house because the kids were here with us last weekend. I don’t mind it, though – lots of time to read and sew! When you are EPPing a big quilt like this, do you leave the papers in until the whole top is done? Enjoy your day, Karen!

I think I will leave the papers in for awhile and see how it goes – I am using C.Jenkins freezer paper for the templates and they are thin but a little thicker than regular freezer paper so it makes it very flexible. It will keep it neat – as it grows though I will probably take a bit out the middle and maybe keep about 2 or 3 rounds with paper to keep the edges firmer. Here it is usually quiet for xmas as our younger daughter and family live in Wisconsin and we normally do not see them for Xmas and our other daughter lives down the road from us – with no children – so it is quite – she will be in and out today but with just adults it is quite – sewing will be done today and maybe a movie?

Your center is looking good, I’m so glad you are doing this quilt! It’ll keep me motivated in the coming year. I hope to finish my Handful of Scraps, my little basket quilt, and work on the two new quilts you are doing. We went to midnight mass last night and now I’m baking my turkey and have to start on my side dishes. Hope to have some time to stitch after dinner. Have a very Merry Christmas!

I haven’t been to midnight mass in years – too late in the evening for me! I’m not cooking anything special today I have so many leftovers in the my refrigerator from last nights finger food fest that if I do cook for supper it will be pasta probably!
