Painting Done

I’m so glad that the painting is done and next time I need a room painted I think I need to check and see how much it cost to have someone do it for me – painting has never been really something I enjoy – it is a chore to get it done – but it is done now.  I will let it dry a couple days and things will go back up on the walls.  Mike is putting in new light fixtures but they were missing a couple parts and had to be reordered so that will get done towards the end of the week so I will but using the shop lights and a couple clip on lights here and there from the sewing room extras that I have.  I will take a photo after the lights are up.

My fabric that I ordered from Craftsy’s Black Friday sale arrived.  these are 3 yard pieces of yardage to add to the stash and the charm squares Jwere a free gift, really pretty batiks.

A couple days ago I put my works in progress back up on the design wall.  The little heart was an art project from Aniya I put it there for now so she will see I kept it and later find a different spot for it.  Linking to Sew Fresh Quilts Jo’s Country JunctionSusan’s Midweek Makers at Quilt Fabrication

No wool work was done on Monday night and after I got done with this post I planned on finding something on tv and get busy on one more of those pieces.  I’m ready to put my feet up and relax – (I write the blog the night before you see it – I imagine my feet are not up right now as you read this)

Craftsy’s  12 Days of Craftsy Sale  continues Day 6 is today

I love the birds so far! They are really fun and colorful.

    • Karen Dec 6, 2017

Yes I need to get back to work on the birds

Still loving the birds and may get back on my “bird of one”(ha) following the new year! Love the new fabric. We will “hire”when painting time comes. I hate painting and am not a neat painter meaning I have more on me than the walls! I spray basted and machine quilted and binded one of the Christmas gift quilts yesterday now that’s the eyes are settled. And now will do the other one today and get these wrapped and delivered and back working on my projects! Too many to name!! Ha!

I have never checked to see how much it cost to have someone paint a room for me – I guess because I have always been capable of doing it myself I have done it that way – but the neck and shoulders are aching a bit this morning – I think the moist heat wrap well be popping in the microwave to warm it up and ease the pain this morning

Thank goodness that job is done, I feel the same way.
Personally since it going to be cold, most of my day will be in the sewing room for a change.

    • Karen Dec 6, 2017

that is what I will probably be doing the rest of this week – be in the sewing room and try to get some things in here done – 33 this morning winter has arrived

I don’t like to paint walls either. Thankfully my husband doesn’t mind (and he’s 6’6″, so it’s fairly easy for him). I thought long and hard about the colors of my walls when we did paint them, because it’s going to be on for a long time 🙂 Hope your stiffness goes away quickly and that you can enjoy some fun sewing time now. I like what I’m seeing on your design wall. Those birds are too cute!

next time I am checking to see how much it cost to have it done – hubby hates painting and my aches and pains will not tolerate it again I think. I need to get back to work on my birds for sure

Glad to hear your painting is done! In spite of the aches and pains, it probably gives you a feeling of accomplishment. Plus now you can relax and do some sewing, knowing the painting is completed! Looks like you got some fun new additions to your stash!

It looks much better, glad to get that green covered up for sure.

I love the little birds too. Are they paper pieced?

they can be and I have papers but half the time I am just free styling them – I was trying to learn paper piecing but I’m not good at it and confusion sets in often LOL

It must be a wonderful feeling to be done with the painting! Now you can recuperate and enjoy sewing your projects. I don’t like painting because I get more on me than the walls, lol! Your projects look so good on your design wall and I especially like the flock of colorful birds. It was down to 40 this morning with a frost and freeze for tomorrow, but than warming up for the weekend, yay. Enjoy sewing in your warm sewing room.

I am glad to be done – thankfully I am not a messy painter and can do the job fairly neatly but there is always a little spilt of course – I wore rubber gloves so at least I didn’t have my hands as covered in paint as usual. it was 33 here this morning and tonight even colder – brrr winter is here. I have been lazy reading all morning while laundry is going and now off to the fitness center to walk and bike and read more while I am at it – sewing this afternoon when I get home perhaps?

Karen, I know you are happy to have the painting all done…now you can get back to quilting projects!
We are getting colder weather here in Virginia….today has been overcast, with not much sun…that always make it seem colder somehow. They are saying we could have some snow on Friday, but only a little amount of accumulation, mostly in grassy areas. Maybe the colder weather will kill some of the germs in the air… There is a lot of stuff going around ..I went to the doctor this morning…he is calling it “the crud”..I now have medication, so hopefully it will go away in a day or so! I have too much to do to be sick! It hasn’t kept me from getting stuff done, but I get tired quicker than I normally would…
I love the holiday season…went to a cookie exchange on Sunday afternoon…I had not participated in one for a long time and really enjoyed it….came home with some amazing cookies!

    • Karen Dec 6, 2017

I love cookie exchange but have no one to do them with right now. I used to do that some years back. They call being sick here “the crud” also – already going around – one of my sisters is sick this week. I tend to stick by myself a lot other than going shopping and the fitness center and I wipe things off with the wipes that are out in public places a lot – I hope I do not get sick. Yes so glad to be done with the painting – Mike gets the lights up in the kitchen this weekend and I will get things back on the walls and then get the decorating of the house started – I have the wreath on the front door and will start to get a few things out this week but the tree will wait until this weekend. Cold here now too – winter has arrived.

Karen que bonitos tu trabajos en el panel.
    ¡¡no me gusta pintar!!

    • Karen Dec 6, 2017

I do not think I like to paint anymore either LOL – but it did get done and didn’t cost me much to do it.

  • Carla Therrien Dec 7, 2017

Those bird blocks are awesome. I had to paint two bedrooms when we moved into this house. It seems to take so much longer than it used. Pretty new fabrics!

    • Karen Dec 7, 2017

I really need to do the bedroom and bathroom also but have no desire to paint now

  • Susan Dec 7, 2017

Love what’s on the design wall – keep going!

    • Karen Dec 7, 2017

yes I have to get going on all of them! and some that aren’t on the wall
