Quilting is Moving Along

Hertfordshire Quilt, Murrieta Stars – Flannel

Monday was kind of a slow day for me, changed sheets on the bed  and washed the kitchen floor – shook off the ferns and swept up the mess, exercised, came home and took a walk around the property to breath in the fresh air which at 45 degrees was ok.

I got just a little done on the Hertfordshire Quilt – stitched while listening to the evening news.   The ruler is over it to hold the edges down while I was taking the photos – it doesn’t like to lay flat but with the ruler there you can get an idea of what size these pieces are.  I had to cut a new piece for the skinny piece on the left I hadn’t left enough for the seam and I could tell it wasn’t enough so quite while I was ahead on it and cut and glue basted a new piece.

Quilting on Murrieta Stars is from Sunday night.  Like I said not a lot going on here. It was a slow day – anything much happening with you? or are you having slow winter days too?  This is as far as the quilt is marked so last night before I got started I drew out the lines for a good 12 inches or more of quilting and got down to it.  Linking to Esther’s Quilt Blog today.

Slow start here, too! Exercise started back yesterday at our church so that is good and getting back to a routine of sewing-machine and hand-between the same house chores and outside appointments. Just glad it’s warmed up a bit to get out! Your Murrieta Stars is looking good!

So glad I stopped by to see what you’ve been up to! I’ve been sewing steadily, but not taking any time on the computer. I’m going to try to be better about that! Enjoy your day! XO

It was a slow day around here too. Today I have laundry and vacuuming the house. The little pieces on the end are a bit of a pain, aren’t they. My triangles seem to curl up too, instead of laying flat like my hexies, I wonder why? You are so close to being finished with your Murrieta Stars quilting, how wonderful! I have to spend less time on the computer myself, I keep saying to myself, lol!

I’m working more on the triangle border this morning – I would like to finish this center then put it aside and work on something else for a couple days – little by little all projects will get done!

Glad you could get outside for a walk yesterday – that always feels good after a cold snap. I didn’t get in much sewing yesterday because I went to my book club in the afternoon and that is usually when I sew! Hoping for more time today. Those triangles are little, but will make such nice detail for that section of the quilt.

I always like to walk outside – but I don’t like to be cold so don’t as often in the winter as i probably could.
