{"id":59070,"date":"2020-07-19T03:03:00","date_gmt":"2020-07-19T08:03:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/karensquilting.com\/blog\/?p=59070"},"modified":"2020-07-19T07:26:18","modified_gmt":"2020-07-19T12:26:18","slug":"a-little-here-a-little-there","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/karensquilting.com\/blog\/2020\/07\/a-little-here-a-little-there\/","title":{"rendered":"A Little Here A Little There"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Little by little things get done even if it doesn\u2019t look like much progress is made at time.\u00a0 The <strong><em>Morning Glory<\/em><\/strong> quilt still looks the same but I am part way done with the 3rd side and for my<a href=\"https:\/\/kathysquilts.blogspot.com\/2020\/07\/slow-sunday-stitching_19.html\"> Slow Sunday Stitching <\/a>with Kathy I will take more stitches on that blue strip all the way around and work on my quilting in the evening too.\u00a0 Also linking to<a href=\"http:\/\/quiltingismorefunthanhousework.blogspot.com\/2020\/07\/oh-scrap-few-blues.html\"> Quilting is More Fun than Housework<\/a> &#8212; <a href=\"https:\/\/kate-life-in-pieces.blogspot.com\/2020\/07\/week-29-of-2020-stitching-stuff.html\">Life in Pieces<\/a> &#8212;<\/p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/karensquilting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_8818.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"IMG_8818\" src=\"https:\/\/karensquilting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_8818_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_8818\" width=\"1012\" height=\"760\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>\n<p><strong><em>Alaska<\/em><\/strong> from Friday night<\/p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/karensquilting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_8819.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"IMG_8819\" src=\"https:\/\/karensquilting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_8819_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_8819\" width=\"576\" height=\"767\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>\n<p>Five mask done for Aniya\u2019s family \u2013 I am sending the t-shirt loops home with them to string through the casing themselves so they can get the fit right and then we will see how many more they want.<\/p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/karensquilting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_8814.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"IMG_8814\" src=\"https:\/\/karensquilting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_8814_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_8814\" width=\"1012\" height=\"760\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>\n<p>In case you are wondering about the loops I cut the t-shirt off under the arm holes of an old soft t-shirt of Mike\u2019s so I have a large rectangle of fabric \u2013 cutting the seam off \u2013 then I cut the strips at about 3\/8\u201d inch \u2013 you gently pull the strip one at a time through your fingers to stretch them out.\u00a0 This makes \u201celastic\u201d \u2013 fit the loop around the ears of the person that will wear it \u2013 cut the piece and tie a knot in it and then stuff the knot into the casing if you desire so it is out of the way.\u00a0 I do have elastic ordered but it won\u2019t come until late next week.<\/p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/karensquilting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_8815.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"IMG_8815\" src=\"https:\/\/karensquilting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_8815_thumb.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_8815\" width=\"576\" height=\"767\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>\n<p>The three Early Girl tomato plants are covered in tomatoes that will be ripening quickly now \u2013 two of the plants in the pots are now taller than I am (5\u20197\u201d) they are tied to tall stakes.\u00a0 The Romas are beginning to blossom\u00a0 &#8211; those are the ones I planted from seed in March and they are about 3 to 4 feet tall now \u2013 with this heat and me watering them almost every day they will have fruit before you know it.\u00a0 After seeing how fast the tomatoes grow from seed I might just do that and start in February instead putting them in little pots that can then be transplanted into larger pots at the end of March or April.\u00a0 I had the Roma\u2019s in very small pots then transplanted into \u2013 maybe 4\u201d pots?
