Bundle of Fabric–Russian Tradition

I hadn’t mentioned it but the 24th was my birthday! 61 years – wow I remember when I thought that age was old Smile not anymore.  Seeing as we were traveling on my birthday –it was the day my son-in-law’s mother died – it didn’t seem right to celebrate my birthday if you know what I mean.  It was the day we got home — I did some on line shopping a couple days before hand and my present showed up two days afterwards.

I had never heard of the Moda line — Russian Traditions.   Craftsy has it!  I’m so glad I was looking through the sales it was 20% off  (and still is!)  and it was for my birthday.  I have always had a thing for Russian art and history so I was glad to see it.  It isn’t usually the type of fabric that I normally buy but it appealed to me.

Here are the fat quarters all spread out.

And included was this panel of two squares.  Aren’t they pretty – I never in my life have gotten a fabric panel so I’m really not sure what I will use them for.   They are big enough for two scarfs or two table square runners? I’m not sure.

This pattern was given to me about six months ago and I thought the fabrics along with fabric from the stash in the same color schemes as the pattern but in solids would go perfectly with this pattern.  That is the plain right now anyhow – but you know how I change my mindSmile

so I actually have the table cleared back off once again but all this fabric had been scattered over it when I said I would show it the next day and then got side tracked.

A belated Happy Birthday!!! The russian fabrics are beautiful and the pattern you chose looks like it would work well with them. Good luck with the panels, maybe a table covering???!!! I also had a b’day this month, but I am ‘just a bit’ older than you. 61 is young in my book.

Love the fabrics. I recognize several patterns that I’m familiar with from Ukrainian embroidery. Can’t wait to see them in person.
