I have not done much work with the hexagons in some time and truthfully I’m kind of tired of making these. So right now I am going to start putting them together – I said it was going to be queen size but it might end up a bit smaller than that – we will see if the interest is there as I put it together.
Right now I have all but 25 or 30 of the diamonds on the design wall. They are spread out as I will be putting the white hexies in between the rows connecting them all together. I started to put some together at the quilt group last night and was so involved in doing that and catching up with Regina and CJ and the others that I forgot to take photos of what all was brought for show and tell. So here is what I have now for Diamonds are Forever – there are a few blocks that I will change around today because of color – I see two very close to each other that are the same color and I want to move them – then pin rows together and label – print out a photo to look at and keep in the box for when I get confused!
I will take another photo of the area I am joining with the white pieces at quilting today as it sure doesn’t show up on the white design wall!
I got Floral Fantasy all put together and it is ready for the border applique – maybe it will be done in another year? we will see. It does lay nice and flat even if one side on the wall here doesn’t. It all fit together perfectly!
this much on the Bride quilt done –
this much border left to do – and then I will draw out a grid to do next.
I do have the binding cut for the Red and Green and I hope to put it on the quilt this afternoon.

You certainly have your work cut out for you!! You do such beautiful work. It’s great inspiration for me to start my day!
2014 is off to a great start! I really do love your Hexie quilt. This is one I would love to make myself someday 🙂
Oh, just to have some of your energy! They’re all so pretty! I use the excuse that my sewing room is too cold to work in right now. I’m thinking about putting up my small frames in a warmer room and working on a baby quilt or doll quilt.
Wow! Your hexies are looking wonderful! All that work is really paying off.:)
Wow, you’ve made amazing progress on all fronts!
Karen,
It may just be me, but I would swap the 2 setting triangles to get the “grain” of the fabric in the top & the left side going the same way.
If you change the positions of the 1st triangle on the top with the 1st triangle on the left side the direction of the of the design will all be going the same way (horizontal).
In the photo the different direction of those 2 triangles really stand out.
