For the last several days in between working on other things I have been continuing to cut my tumblers for my big quilt by hand that I plan to work on this summer while we travel. This quilts name will be “Tumbling into Insanity” to keep the theme going that I am insane for working on these big quilts with a zillion pieces in them. I need 1,352 of plain tumblers and the same amount of print tumblers – right now – I have six hundred of each ready, plus a few extra of the plain that I haven’t counted in!
I have also been working on my hexie diamonds for Diamonds are Forever– this row is almost complete I think there are three more diamonds to attach to this one.
I have no progress to report on Insanity Revisited but I’m sure I will work more on it this weekend. The other day I asked about sharpeners for Rotary Cutters – most that were recommended are the Electric ones – no one had anything good to say about the manual sharpeners. I am going to keep an eye out for one sale and I will let you know how it works.
Here are a couple of the quilts that were on show and tell for the Thursday night quilt group. This wall hanging belongs to Regina.
Here is an overview of the space we have with the sun shining in the window still at 7 PM – it was still light when I left to go home at a little after 8 PM. The joys of summer. We meet at the Senior Center is this new section of the very large meeting room that is used for dances, music and the far end is the dining room for lunch time meals. This is a fairly new building and the people in the area seem to love it. They let groups of all ages reserve meeting spaces like the quilting group once a month as this big space is empty on the first Thursday night of the month – anyone who attends the quilt group pays one dollar only for the use of the room and only if you are there.
Renee’s quilt with French General fabric I believe, I could be wrong on the fabric line but it looks a bit like it.
I think this one was Carolyn’s but not positive.
CJ sitting at the table taking stitches out of her quilt – she was not happy with the thread and is taking it apart and will then put it back together. The small wall hanging on the opposite side of the table there is another from Regina she was hand quilting.
Most of these applique blocks are Jane’s for a quilt she is doing – the three blocks in the upper left belong to another but I don’t remember who.
this one belong to either Glenda or Ruth – quilting sisters that come to the group. I remember seeing one of them lay it out but I don’t remember which.
This lovely counted cross stitch Christmas piece belongs to Lori she does the most lovely delicate small stitches.
Don’t forget the Craftsy sale goes on through Monday!! I bought the class Creative Quilting with Your Walking Foot (25% off) – I thought this one would be perfect me to learn more as I do not care for free motion – I just can’t get the feel for it – but I love the look of the straight lines and this will give me more information on it. I haven’t had time to look at it yet but I hope to next week and then I will give a review on the class. Has anyone else taken this new class? If so how did you find it?

That’s quite a bunch of tumblers you are going to sew, but knowing you you’ll have them put together in no time 🙂
Whoa! What a lot of tumblers! But it’s going to be beautiful when it’s done … but then I’m partial to the smaller blocks. And thanks for the pictures from Show and Tell.
That tumbler quilt will be such fun to watch come together! Are you planning to get all of them cut before you start stitching them together?
I love how your mini tumblers are coming along getting ready for your trip… so much to do… I love seeing the other quilts along with yours thrown on the floor in a great display. So much eye candy you posted today! Everyone has wonderful works 🙂 I have not taken this Craftsy class but a great one for basic quiltmaking is “piece, patch, quilt” on Craftsy for FREE! Kathi
You probably already mentioned it, but how big are your tumblers? Are you planning to alternate print and plain? Can’t wait to watch your progress.
Ya deseo ver ese edredón de vasos!!!
me gusta ver que otras quilters cosen en el coche
cuando yo lo cuento, me miran como un bicho diferente
saludos
