Before we left the town we camped at on Tuesday night I had Mike stop by the trading post so I could get a photo – our kids loved this place when they were kids and we would be in town visiting relatives – so Melanie and Jessica this photo is for you! It’s still there, still the same old tourist trap ![]()
Pretty wild flowers on the side of the road
Going across the the flat lands and sand hills of Nebraska you see a lot of old windmills.
And you see actual hay stacks not bales! taken through the window so blurry
This was a nice lunch break for us, when we got to Alliance Nebraska there was a wonderful city park – amazing as the town is not all that large but the park was great and super maintained.
Another view.

Who knew that farmers still stacked hay. 😉
My hubby and I were discussing some travel dreams yesterday afternoon … that discussion and seeing your trip photos has amped up my desire to travel along through the north-northwest US.
When you use the term tourist trap, it reminds me of the Shell Factory near Fort Meyers Florida. When we would take the kids to see great grandmother she would always take them to the Shell Factory. Looks like you are having good weather we are suppose to get chances of rain for the next six days. Good quilting weather!
Now that was informative as all that I ever see is bales…and think of them as stacks! 🙂
Wow, all of that sure looked familiar.
Ugh – color me homesick! Thanks, I love seeing the old stomping grounds!
Looks like it would be a really fun spot.
