I really and truly have made progress on the tumblers and I haven’t grown tired of them yet. My first “block” finished – 10 tumblers to a row by 10 rows. For some reason I thought this would end up being a square it isn’t obviously. This piece isn’t pressed but I have a rough figure of 16” x 20” so now I need to figure out how many I need to make for a quilt about 104 x 104. I’ll deal with that later –
math not being my strong suit – I will need to get the calculator out!
I mentioned I was going to get a new light to put around my neck for when I didn’t have good light – I have had the opportunity more than once now to try them out – I have two and I brought them both with me.
Not great photos but here they are – the one on the left sucks big time! Total waste of money in my opinion – I got it for $15 from Keepsake quilting. The one on the left works great. I have actually had it for 3+ years but didn’t use it much as the strap that went around my neck itched like crazy on my skin. I took it off and put a ribbon in it’s place – I have to tie it in a bow at the back of my neck but it works – the light is much more powerful and bright. I got that one from Karen Kay Buckley’s site. I do not have internet as I write this so I am not linking to the products – I will if I think about it before this post and if I remember otherwise ask me about it and I will get the info to you later or google the name.
Someone asked what does Mike do for relaxation on these trips – I have my sewing and reading – he has his computer
really this is what he always does – he edits his photos and if we have connection he is on it off and on just like I do in between our hikes and stuff – can’t hike all the time you know and sometimes it is not nice outside – between some places having more than their share of bugs the weather is not always the greatest.
Some else asked “Are you really comfortable in a small camper” not all the time no – sometimes the chairs get uncomfortable, if my back starts to ache or we want to stretch out – there is always the bed! Use it like a couch with pillows tucked behind you.
big pillow brought along, lovely view out the windows and I’m ready to recline and stretch out!
And of course I must enjoy looking at this quilt – shoes off before getting on the quilt!!

I think you are looking at about 65 tumblers wide by 102 high.
You are making great progress. I am assembling my chevron top today and plan on doing it in sections to avoid too much stretching, something I notice that you do to. Love the view you have outside of the bedroom and your quilt looks great on the bed. Looks like a peaceful place to get some stitching done.
So you like the one one the LEFT better than the one on the LEFT?? LOL I think we understand which one you like better from the description though 😉 I found it just where you said http://www.karenkaybuckley.com/store.php?cat=8 $28.95 not bad
sounds like a lovely trip. I like your camper. Ours is even smaller and hubby has it listed for sale. He couldn’t stand upright in it and the bed was just too small. What kind and size is yours (if you don’t mind me asking)?
Me gusta como suena este tiempo descanso!!!
los mini vasos van rápido y son preciosos combinando con blanco
nunca utilice una lampara de cuello
¿no molestan las cervicales?
saludos
Thanks for mentioning the protable light issue. I was thinking about ordering the one that you did not like from Keepsake Quilting, but I will wait until I can see it up close.
I have the one that you like, but I really do not like it for quilting. I got it after a workshop with Nancy Chong. She loves it. I find that it does not hit the work area for me no matter what I try. Like you I have modified the neck strap but I still can not use it for quilting. It is my reading light when we travel so I can read when Hubby is sleeping.
Dawn
you need 3,380 tumblers. 65h x 52w.
Ha — I couldn’t stand it — I had to do the math. I got the same answer as Wendy. Therefore, Swooze will have a REALLY long quilt LOL!
I had one like the one on the RIGHT years ago. It disappeared, so I finally broke down and bought a new one from Amazon. I also bought one of those flashlights you put around your head at Lowes. I love it for quilting. It shines the light right where you are looking.
I was an accountant for 30+ years and I need a calculator to do any math. Of course, I blame the fact that as an accountant, I had software, calculators and adding machines that did all my math for me … so I lost the “skill” to do math on my own. ha!
I bought a couple of Huglights from amazon … when we travel, hotel and condo lighting isn’t always conducive to handwork.
You wrote”… the one on the left sucks big time! … The one on the left works great.” Which one is the one that works great?
What a lovely view!
The headlights are usually by the registers.
What a lovely little home on wheels. I have a Huglight that I got from Costco. It is fine in a power outage but no good for hand work.
light on the right- the bigger one is the one I like better – haven’t had time to edit my post as well as usual LOL – thanks all for stopping by and keeping up with the travels and ignore the typo’s!
Small camper? In my eyes it is big. We have never had campers, but many years we have thought to buy one. I love Your inside photos!
