That’s right we got lucky and saw more bears!! And got photos this time. I had my camera ready and was able to start to snap off photos one after another. We started the day on the western side of the park for a drive up the west road that goes in and out of the park – the bear we spotted were in the park.
At first it looked like a mama bear with two cubs.
But as she started to cross the road one more popped up from the underbrush next to the road.
we just stayed parked in the middle of the road and kept snapping photos of them crossing the road – now and then she would turn her head and kind of look at us to make sure we were not moving most likely and then just keep on walking.
The looked kind of wet and there was a steam on the side of the road that they had started from – they crossed and went back into the tall brush
Some of the babies were a little pokey and kept looking at us.
And that was it – into the woods they went. Here at Glacier and in our campground there are signs up warning campers about the bear yes but we also have a mountain lion in the campground – we have not seen it but it has been spotted once or twice a day and it has 4 kits with it. The ranger says because it won’t go away they will have to trap it as it is becoming dangerous because it won’t leave the area. So far no one has been injured.
After we saw the bear we kept on going to our destination of Polebridge a tiny little historic – well not even a village anymore – a tiny mercantile and they have some cottages and a café/bakery.
So what did we get one might ask? Huckleberry Bear Claws of course!! huge
Huge pastries – we pigged out and each had our own! Huckleberry’s and blueberries are very much alike – one is wild and the other isn’t. I think some people must grow huckleberry’s though because there are so many products here made from them – they can’t all be wild!!

How appropriate that you had bear’s claws after seeing the bear family. 😉
I haven’t commented a lot on your travels but I have followed and so enjoyed all! A lot of good ideas and stops are being noted for our trips out that way after my retirement! Love all the views. Be safe and have fun.
Cool photos! Those bear claws make me very hungry. Must get up and fix breakfast.
Oh how lucky — you got to see triplets!!! The bears look beautiful. It would be fun if you could see the mountain lion too — but not really — that’s scarey LOL. Loved your goat shots from yesterday too — that looked like a wonderful hike!!!
Those bears look well fed!
How cute. Once we saw a momma bear and her cubs in The Smokies. So fun.
My husband and I love the bakery in Polebridge!! A definite must stop when at Glacier!
