Too Many Projects–Not

I always like to work on a few projects at one time – variety is good for me.  But right now my sewing table might be a little too busy LOL.  I just had it cleaned off earlier in the week and now it is covered to the point that I should open up the back leaf on the table to give myself more space.  I decided to try out my new ruler and the pattern for the one called “Tiny Dancers”.  I sewed six segments and placed the on the table – they are not sewed together as a whole because as the pattern shows you sew them in rows – half of the units at a time and alternate whole segments so that at the beginning and end you have half segments.  I made five more rows of 10 for the tumblers and hope to do 5 more to extend that to 10 x 10 like I have been doing.  I am not sure what size this quilt will be – I always like to make big quilts but with machine quilting some of them this one might be nice to do in a twin size or full size instead.  This should be an easy one to straight line machine quilt.  Same with the tumblers except for the size of it.

Here you can see better what I mean about half segments.  The design wall will come into play for this – and that won’t happen very much until after Thanksgiving as the sewing room will have an air mattress on the floor for one of the kids.  Jessica and family are coming from Wisconsin for a couple days next week and there will be air mattresses scattered and the motorhome parked next to the house for more sleeping space, refrigerator and bathroom!  Times like this a second refrigerator would come in handy (and more bedrooms) – but I really don’t need one for most of the year so the small one out there will do.  I am linking up to Sarah’s Confessions of a Fabric Addict and Crazy Mom Quilts and A Quilters Reader’s Garden.

This is the area on Diamonds are Forever border that I said wasn’t right – I noticed it after seeing the photo I posted yesterday.  I did some unpicking and sewed it correctly.

And now that I see the other side (the left) I can see that I need to take one white out and move the top red color over one to the left to have it the same.  I know I’m picky but it is in a place where it is an easy fix now and it won’t be later.  I will lay it out first though to take another look and make sure I am seeing what I think I see there.

Dear Jane – Insanity Revisited from Wednesday night –

001 002

What are you doing for Thanksgiving?  Full house or just the people normally in your house?  Normally it is just the two of us and sometimes Melanie and Ric if they are available – now that they live down the road from us they will be here and with Jessica’s group too there will be 8 of us and way too much pie!!  But we are a pumpkin pie eating family – breakfast, snacks ect – we love it and it is the only time of the year I make it – I like to keep it special Smile

I usually have the family over here and it’s hard since the place is small…we manage by having the piano bench be a kids table and what-have-you. This year son and DIL want to host which is nice…they have more room AND a dishwasher.

Great new block! Insanity revisited is really coming along! I feel for you going thru a kitchen remodel and now hosting Thanksgiving. My husband I will head to Illinois to visit with family. I love pumpkin pie too!

Having all the family over that can fit in your house is wonderful! Hubby and I will be alone again…darn! In fact, my husband will be working that day…not a holiday in France. But we usually get a lot of Thanksgiving wishing from the French people we run into that day…it is always an unexpected surprise!

Love it as always! I really do like your “tiny dancer” block. Hmmm…..I may need to get that pattern and template. 🙁 Shew….another project and so little time. LOL!

Have a wonderful and Blessed day

The new block looks nice and fun to make, I think I see everything scrappy… lol. I had to empty my sewing table (dining table) the other day to thread baste a twin quilt. Have to get all the mess on the table again or else I won’t find anything! 🙂

Sounds like you have a fun week all set up this year. I’m excited for Thanksgiving — all of our (sister’s and mine) kids will be home — they’re always tons of fun!!!

Life requires multiple projects! We are going to my best friend’s house for Thanksgiving and then maybe to the river for the weekend.

I don’t know how you find the patience to do all those tiny pieces! Looks great!

For the first time in many years, we are going to Texas for Thanksgiving. I will be cooking dinner at my brother’s house. Was really hoping that our house in Arkansas would be sold by now and we would be in a new house in Texas by now, but it’s just not supposed to be, I guess. And I know what you mean about too many projects. I now have Dear Jane, Country Inn (appliqué), hexies, Swirled Christmas Tree (another applique), and some knitting ready and packed for our holiday travels. We are literally doing plane, train, and automobile this season. Leaving Monday and not sure when we’ll be back, but not until after Christmas for sure. Guess I better figure out some clothes, now. A challenge since we’re going to Texas, Wisconsin, Chicago, and back to Texas.

Loving all your progress… we will have a quiet Thanksgiving here at home just me and my honey! Hope you have a great time with a full house though 🙂 Love your new pattern Tiny Dancer… I am planning a similar pattern with a bundle of fat quarter batiks! Very excited about that… or maybe I am just ready to be done with my current hand quilting project ! lol Kathi

What wonderful EPP projects you have going on. Looks like you have a finish coming up, too! Both my sons will be here for Thanksgiving, but they just like a free meal they don’t have to cook. =)

All your sewing looks terrific. It’s funny how you can’t see something until you post a photo on your blog.

Love that new block! I can see that, once put together, it will look far more complex than reality (love those illusions!!!). Your little tumbler piecing is so sweet. Thanksgiving will be very quiet. I’m up for that this year.
