My Dear Jane – Insanity Revisited is coming along so nicely – it will be so close to finishing this year. I should be able to finish it in January for sure. I finished row 12 of the blocks – this is actually in reverse order because I started to quilt at the bottom of the quilt and then continue rolling it up – technically I am beginning to quilt Row #1 this week
Here is the last of row number 12 (2) that I quilted on Saturday night. Some of the blocks are not quilted near as much as others are but if I really feel the need to put more stitches in those areas I will do so after I take it off the frame and look it over some. I am linking to Judy’s Patchwork Times today and Babco Unlimited which is guest hosting for Stitch by Stitch today.
On Sunday I spent some more time working on the Kansas Twister – I now have the first 4 rows sewed and completed. The next two rows are sewed but not attached to each other nor onto row number 4 – that is where I will pick up next on it. This is actually turning into a larger quilt than I thought it would be for some reason – full size is big isn’t it.
Here it is spread on top of the Dear Jane quilt while I was checking a few things out on it and then I realized that it really was quite large.
Where you busy with holiday things this past weekend or just quilting like usual? I was home the whole weekend – today – grocery shopping for one thing and I hope to the fitness center too – Mike has come down with a cold yesterday and I hope I do not get it also – when I do I never have the energy to exercise.

So glad you are to the FIRST row on your Dear Jane… then the top border and you will be ready to take it off and bind! Wonderful 🙂 I am LOVING your Twister and how it is coming together too 🙂 Loved seeing your sweet gd and all your decorations and tree yesterday… you are getting festive for sure! Hopefully we will be decorating early this week. We usually leave up the decore til January sometimes so all is still good 🙂 Kathi
That IS going to be a large quilt! But a beautiful one, that’s for sure!
No sewing or quilting here. 🙁 I ought to try to get caught up on laundry, wrap Christmas gifts, and finish up our Christmas cards today … but I’d really rather be quilting. If I don’t do the cards and wrapping today, who knows when I’ll have the time to get to them.
Wash those hands. Rinse and repeat!
Your twister is looking good. I’d build two or three sections then assemble the top. Would be less cumbersome. Do you do that?
Have a great day.
I hope you can stay cold-free! It’s been going around our house, too. 🙂 This weekend I mailed off some Christmas cards, and de-cluttered a bit. With 3 little children and Christmas fast approaching, I try to clear out a bit before new comes in. Also sewed some on bed tents that are going to be our present to the children this year. It’s exciting to see Dear Jane so near to being done! What I like so much about your blog is that I get to see quilts in progress in little bits and it makes me realize that I can get them done too! It helps the process seem not as slow.
I finished all of my holiday requirements this weekend. Anything else I do is gravy. It was nice to sit down last night and just sew drunkards path blocks.
Hi Karen! My weekend has been paint, paint, paint and more paint jajaja. Redecorating my flat, painting it, doing many diy, but now it is painted, redecorated and completely clean, it is as I wanted it to be for a looong time. Beautiful quilts the ones you show in your entry. I hope to have some free time during Christmas to sew two baby quilts. Love!
Wow! I’m so impressed by your Dear Jane quilt and to quilt it by hand, too! It is so beautiful. I’ve thought about adding it to my Quilty Bucket List. And I love the twister quilt–It’s fun to see how it is put together.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my blog. For some reason, it wouldn’t let me respond your comments. Just wanted you to know I wasn’t ignoring you. =)
Finished up the Christmas preparations yesterday. Heading to Dallas Friday hope to be back home Tuesday night. So, now I am just enjoying some hand quilting. I do need to cut some more 2 in squares for my TATW to take along on the 5 hour car ride.
