Can I get done with this quilt by the end of the year and still have flexibility in my hands – hmm not really sure – I would like to get it done – but will I? It will be close. These areas were done on Sunday. I am linking to the Patchwork Times today.
Do you try to do a year end post of what you accomplished quilting throughout the year? I do sometimes and must admit I really didn’t remember some of them. I started to go through some photos a couple days ago and had forgotten that I had taken the Red and Green Applique off of the frame at the end of the year and was working on the binding at the beginning of the year – I thought I finished it last year! I will need to see if I have time to work up a end of the year post for New Years Day maybe.

What lovely quilting. I hope your hands feel OK!
I like doing a year-end recap … it allows me to see just how productive I was during the year (although I wasn’t nearly as productive this year). Wow, you got a lot of stitching done yesterday. Hoping that your hands will hold up and that you’ll get the quilting done by the end of the year.
You are making such great progress on your quilting and it looks great! I need to set a goal for myself to get a top hand quilted that my great grandmother made. Maybe 2015 will be the year!
I get the same way at the end of a project. Once it’s close I only want to work on that one thing.
Lovely quilting. Hopefully you can finish it and still have some feeling in your fingers. It’s hard to stop when you are so close to being done.
Some years I do an end of year post, some years I haven’t.
Oh that is so gorgeous. I love seeing the progress on this one.
Sew exciting to be this close to the end! I found a pinterest pic of a version of Dear Jane that might work with the squares my friend had put together and then lost her interest. She did all of hers by hand and I sure hate to see her abandon the project!
I can’t do an end of year recap post. It would be too depressing, because this year I neglected to finish the quilt I started last year, and started three more quilts instead (none of which are anywhere near finished). Your Dear Jane Insanity is looking fabulous!
Hi Karen! You’re almost at the end of handquilting the DJ, please take care of your hands. Perhaps it’d be a good idea to give some “holidays” to your hands and just rest. Just a suggestion, love!
I’m doing the same thing you are, can I finish? Is it worth it? hehe Hope you do take care of your hands though. It’s definitely better to be able to work when you want throughout the year than worry about an end of the year finish. I just started doing the end of the year finishes post a couple years ago and love it. I always forget about a couple finishes too. Makes me put everything in perspective and see where I’m at quilty-wise. Good luck with your gorgeous DJ.:)
Beautiful hand quilting. I’m down to binding on three quilts — two small that will be bound both sides by machine. The other is a bigger one and I’m stitching the binding down by hand. I hadn’t thought of doing a year end review…. maybe I will… I admire your tenacity on Dear Jane. Good job and almost done.
Oh it would be nice to have it finished by the year end but please don’t overdo it with your hands. 🙁 I keep thinking that I need to get ALL of my hand projects finished within the next few years as you never know how long your hands will hold out.
