My pattern giveaway is at the end – I have two winners. Andrea was first in the drawing and she gets patterns #2, 6 & 7. I was going to hold a third drawing but I noticed that the final patterns were requested by Renea # 3, 8 & 9 so she is getting the rest of them. Thanks ladies for participating and get me your addresses Andrea and Renea – I am emailing both of you. I am linking to Freshly Pieced Modern today and Sew Fresh Quilts.
On Monday night after our daughter left for home I got Kansas Twister on the frame and – decided not to pin baste. I got started looking at it and deciding how I would do the machine quilting and thought – I really want to quilt it a certain way and the quilt is a bit larger than I remembered it being – I wanted to hand quilt it instead. LOL – no one is really surprised are they? I really think I would have had a lot of trouble to maneuver a quilt this size with the machine seeing as I do not have a lot of practice and also because I wanted it to look hand quilted! Yes I am kind of wondering if I should just not pin baste on the 3 roller – I was going to pin baste 3 quilts and ending up with one pin basted for the sewing machine, hand quilted one and the next is already in the beginnings of hand quilting. The fabric on both the top and back are very soft this is an easy one to quilt – I am putting in just enough quilting to keep it all together, nothing fancy, some outline quilting and other straight lines here and there. I think it will move along quickly.
I am using white chalk and blue wash out pen to mark and a variegated thread to quilt.
Insanity Revisited, Dear Jane is now on the wall – of course she is too long! I knew that but it is the only spot we have to hang a quilt. We plan on getting two recliners soon and getting rid of the love seat and the chair– the couch will be moved to a different area and the recliners will go in this area instead so more of the quilt will show then.
For now this will do.

Your stitching is so even and pretty 🙂
Love that you did the second quilt in all the same colors, just beautiful
I have to say that I’m glad you’re hand quilting Kansas Twister … there’s just nothing like a hand-quilted quilt. 😉 It’s going to be fabulous when it’s done.
I love seeing your IR on the wall … it’s stunning there!
Both your quilts are sew pretty but I have to say your Dear Jane is gorgeous. I really want to make one of these quilts. Love it!! Also, thanks sew much for drawing my name in the pattern giveaway. I am sew excited! Thank you.
The quilting on the Kansas Twister looks nice. Your Jane is beautiful. I especially like the way you did the scalloped border. Was the point of the curve easier to do with 2 triangles in the curve than just one?
Insanity Revisted looks wonderful hanging on your wall! Looking forward to how Kansas Twister will transform with your quilting stitches.
Oh, Insanity Revisted looks wonderful on the wall! What a nice memento of a lot of effort. I like your Kansas Twister quilt – so cheerful.
Does it feel good to have destashed a few patterns? I need to do the same, but yesterday I went through my “bill basket” which holds not just bills to be paid and extra checks, but everything else in the world. Old photos, post cards, business cards, etc. It is clean (ish) now, and the waste basket is overflowing. Now if I could only get to that box of family photos that I moved five years ago!!
Your Dear Jane is lovely! That’s quite an accomplishment! I admire all your hand quilting. I’m just a little too impatient! Enjoy!!!
It’s going to be beautiful hand quilted! Insanity Revisited is stunning.
Your Dear Jane looks awesome on the wall!! I am so glad you decided to hand quilt Kansas Twister…hand quilting is the best!! Can’t wait to see it all done.
Insanity looks beautiful hanging there!!!
Insanity Revisited looks great on your wall! I have a quilt to hang that is big like that and I run into the same problem with furniture. It’s part of the reason why I haven’t gotten it hanging again since we moved into this house… almost three years ago. Yikes! Kansas twister is looking good.
It seems like just a few months ago when I first saw this quilt on your blog and loved it…how many years ago might that have been? It is wonderful. Definitely one my favorites that I have seen you complete! And…yes…no surprise you went with handquilting the Kansas twister top!
Your Dear Jane looks so stunning hanging on that wall! I’m loving the quilting that you are doing on the Twister. You’ll have this one quilted in a few days! LOL! Maybe not a few days but you are very fast at handquilting!
