Squaring Up

After finally finishing up the varnishing I felt kind of lazy yesterday.  I read, I sat outside and enjoyed the cooler mornings that we have had (and continue to have), and I have spent time squaring up blocks.  Winter Wonderland is getting closer to being ready to start lay out decisions and then row by row completing.  Right now I have the light colored and the red colored blocks squared up.

That still leaves the tan color stack – I hope to finish them today.

This part of Floral Fantasy was done on Wednesday night, I am linking to Confessions of a Fabric Addict today and Amanda Jean’s Crazy Mom Quilts.

And this part was the plan to work on last night.

Melanie had the sniffles and her mother in law and great niece had been sick all week so she stayed away in hopes that we won’t get it.  I will probably see her at some point this weekend as I have tomatoes to share with her and she will run by to pick some up.  I probably still have two dozen in the garden but they are slowing up – thank goodness as I am tired of tomatoes and my heart burn tells me I have been eating too many dishes made with tomatoes.

I picked up the handles for the new cupboard drawers and doors – hope to get them on this weekend and then I will take a photo.  Well be glad when all that is done and I get the kitchen back in order.  It sure has been nice that I have been able to have the windows open for 4 days this week – it sure has helped to air all that nasty smell of varnish out the house.

Another busy day! Getting closer and closer to the final assembly of Winter Wonderland. I have that pattern and need to make it someday as I love it. Your Floral Fantasy is just beautiful.

A lazy day every now and then helps us recharge our batteries, so to speak. And it sounds like you got a little done, squaring up blocks. We replaced knobs on our bedroom furniture, swapping out the wooden knobs for some metal ones. I’ve been meaning to do that ever since we bought the furniture 8 years ago.

Winter Wonderland is looking exciting and gorgeous, and Floral Fantasy came out beautifully! The tomatoes…same issue here, so am going to roast the rest and freeze them to add to pasta sauces this fall.

Floral Fantasy is simply gorgeous. We had no luck with our tomatoes this year. The few we were able to get are going into a tomato cream sauce for dinner tonight.

My tomatoes are slowing down and getting smaller, too.

But I could never tire of them…though half or more of what I pick goes down the street to the kids so I probably don’t have as many to deal with as you.

Floral Fantasy is going to be so amazing! I love watching your quilts progress. Winter Wonderland should be wrapping up for you right around the holidays, don’t you think? That almost makes me want to get MY languishing Christmas quilt blocks out from the UFO pile…

After all you have done recently, from varnishing to lots of quilty things, you deserve to take a lazy day!! Although lazy to you is more than some of us do on a regular day (Ha Ha!!)…
Seriously, I don’t know how you get so much done!
Looking forward to seeing those square in a square blocks come together!
Love the look of the quilting progress on Floral Fantasy!

You’ve accomplished a lot for a “lazy feeling” day. I’m looking forward to seeing how you arrange the blocks for Winter Wonderland.
