This post is to remind myself of how I did the detail quilting in the border flowers – you know how when the quilt is rolled up you can’t see the details anymore and sometimes I forget, this way I can go back to a post and see – I have reminded myself of the date in my little notebook so I can go back and look.
I finished this side of Floral Fantasy Monday night and rolled it down.
One more Postage Stamp quilt block was done while I was putting together the rows of blocks for the Winter Wonderland quilt. These blocks are 10 inches.
Progress on Winter Wonderland. This much is now sewed together. Then I moved it to the living room floor to add the next border. This much of the quilt measures about 55 x 60 inches. I am linking to Sew Fresh Quilts today and Freshly Pieced.
This 3rd round of blocks is just laying in place ready to be worked on. This 3rd row should make the quilt about 65 x 70 – I say about – the blocks when sewn are 5.5 inches.
Photos are taken as reminders – I take photos of the corners and have written notes pinned in place – hopefully that will keep it straight. These next 4 photos are for me so I can go back and look if I need to.

Such lovely stitching on Floral Fantasy and WW is coming along quickly! It’s nice to see how you organize / keep track as well 🙂
Love the close-up photos of the Floral Fantasy quilting….
Those postage stamp blocks are growing! Love the scrappiness (not sure that is even a word!) …you know scrappy quilts are my favorites!!
The square in a square blocks are looking good….each additional row is really bringing the quilt to life!
Looks like you’re going to have to rearrange your living room if that Winter Wonderland gets much bigger. 😉 Good thinking to take pictures so you can make sure that all your corners are the same.
I really love the quilting you are doing on Floral Fantasy. You are making great progress on all fronts! The dog days of summer are great for sewing inside.
I love all 3 of these quilts! I started, but haven’t finished Floral Fantasy so it’s nice to see your beautiful quilting.
I know I’ve said this before, but I just love how those square in a square blocks look on this quilt. The photo of it all laid out on the floor is stunning. Are you adding another row or is this third one your last?
Like how you accented the flowers on FF. l like your camera tips .. good idea. WW is coming along nicely. too.
Nice work on the Winter Wonderland! Maybe I should make my current stitchery quilt like that…Thanks for the inspiration Karen.
You sound like me. I have to take notes, take pictures and even draw a diagram or I’ll get rows turned around! Love the stitching detail on Floral fantasy.:)
Have I mentioned how much I love Winter Wonderland?!? I’m also loving to watch the progress on the postage stamp quilt…amazing!!
